If he accepts, we can never know if that is the reason which he has accepted for, but I'd rather have a player that loves Iran than just thinks of Iran as a shot to play in the world cup..
I personally, and a lot of other people, would give our life to be able to represent Iran, to wear TM jersey, You have no idea how much we honour TM and Iran, instead of just using TM to play in the world cup..

Now I'm not saying this is the reason Aria will choose Iran for, if he chooses Iran. Note that I said in the beginning of this post that we can never know the reason.

Well, listening to his father's interview, I see no way he gives up his Japanese citizenship for an Iranian one. So I don't think it is a difficult decision for him

From his highlights he seems like a sharp player, I would really like to see him next to one of our Iranian players for comparison, it would be really interesting

Here's what needs to happen, clear and simple.

Aria jan has to say to the media if he wants to wear Iran's jersey or not. He has to say if he wants to represent Team Melli or not.

I think what's happening with him right now is that he's keeping quiet and really thinking about what he will be gaining and losing at the same time if he chose us.

I think he's in the state of making his decision and he won't say anything to the public just yet. He's most likely emailing Markar Aghajanian and/or Carlos Queiroz and coming to terms. There are many things that the people don't know about a football player's personal life. Many factors besides the citizenship could be involved before the final decision.

I just hope that he doesn't treat our shirt as a way to play in Brasil and get media attention for himself. I hope when he accepts the invitation and when he is clear to play for us without any harm to his Japanese citizenship, he will play with his heart for Team Melli. It is true that he is half Iranian but he's also half Japanese.

The first decision is always the hardest. Just imagine being in those type of player's shoes. Player's like Jasur or even Boateng for example. I don't think they have an easy decision.

For us, because we are on this forum and most of us are full Iranian and full supporters of Team Melli, it's much much easier to pick Iran over the country we are currently living in.

Although it was an easier decision for Omid Nazari, I doubt it's an easier decision for a player like Aria. A player who's half Japanese and half Iranian, starting in the J-League, and his father's national football team being in the same confederation as his mother's. Completely different scenario than the Nazari brothers.

the question is IF he wants to play for TM, once he says YES, i am sure they will be able to find a way!! there are always ways.

This is becoming old...every Joe Blow (with all due respect to Aria) wearing a football uniform that is any color except IPL colors is deemed suitable for our TM. If you want to be a TM member, you have to really really want it really really bad...we don't need to beg anyone...especially at a time when the player will almost be guaranteed a spot at 2014 WC. I say look close and hard at IPL; there are plenty of talented youngsters ready to fight for TM....I don't mean to sound ultra nationalistic here; at least I hope I'm not.

Did anyone notice how Aria's dad said, "Dar hade salam, chetori, biya,...damet garmo khoob estefade mikone."

I just noticed it lol. So I guess his tattoo is indeed "damet garm".

                  Eyval, damet garm Aria!

That's completely true, it would be a shame if anyone used the jersey ONLY for their own personal ambitions. I was just saying that there is a large attraction for him to play for iran as well as the reasons why he wouldn't want to. Another thing to consider is that once he joins the national team there is no going back so its unlikely that many people would chose it with out any sense of honour and respect for the jersey as they would have to wear that jersey for the rest of their international career.

Good for him but he has to be a few cans short of a six pack if the choice is between Iran and Japan and he chooses Iran.

The choice isn't between Iran and Japan.

The choice is between Iran and Japan's bench...

After the interview of his father with 90 i dont knoe if i want to see him in TM. TM is something that ur heart does want. And how his father was talking Aria doesnt want to be part of TM. Thats just my feeling and my opinion is that i would prefer a young IPL player.

LOL. Everytime we want to call up a new player, people start complaining about whether or not their heart is with the team.

Dejagah... doesn't show up to several invitations.

People: His heart isn't with Team Melli.

Ghoochannejhad... can't make several Team Melli camps due to administrative issues.

Davari... doesn't show up to several camps to help Braunschweig promote to the Bundesliga.

People: His heart isn't with Team Melli.

Beitashour... wants to play at a World Cup.

You want to know whose heart wasn't in Team Melli? The same clown who supposedly played around 80 games as a goalkeeper but in the end decided to go on national tv, bash the team and the coach and wish that we fail.
