Well go listen to his dad interview, he clearly said that " aria" is very keen to play for iran, however he has to lose his japanese nationality and that is a big problem for him ! In other words aria doesn't want to lose his japanese nationality over iran !

The kid is born in Japan, you obviously don't understand Japanese law. His mother has to get him a birth certificate because the father is not Japanese. That is the reason for his last name.

Why are you not living in Iran? No one is forcing you to stay wherever you are? Would it be correct for us to assume the same thing about your parents?

Point is, you are making huge assumptions based on a video clip where the person speaking was woken up @ 5am and only given limited time to talk. What you are doing is wrong.

My brother was born here , he knows how to read and write farsi and thats only because my parents care about him learning farsi ! In his class there are few kids who are Mixed Race (Persian and other races), but obviously unlike Aria's parents, their parents care for them to learn Farsi !

The point that im trying to make is that Aria's heart is not with iran ! ( his father also said that)

Aziz, i'm just being honest with you. You are making way too many assumptions. No one is saying how Aria feels, but no one is making assumptions or wild accusations either.

Maybe the Japanese language has vowel harmony? Maybe it's like the Georgian language where everything has to end in a vowel. There could be a thousand reasons!

Why didn't your parents raise you in Iran? Why aren't you living in Iran? Is your heart not in Iran? If it was wouldn't you be living here?, etc.., etc.....

I'm only using you as an example to show you we cannot make assumptions about others so I hope you understand it's not personal.

I was very harsh against Dejagah at the beginning when his name first came up. Kind of like you are being now. But then I learned not everything is as black and white as we see or think it might be. Let's let things play out and see what happens. After all, none of us really know the guy and in the end he may not choose Iran.

Really stupid laws in Japan, typical for the local attitude. He'd fuck up his whole life by giving away Japanese citizenship, he won't do that.

I must admit it doesn't bother me much though. He seems to be an upper average J-League player and although I would welcome him to TM as an half-Iranian like me, I doubt he could add the quality a Dejagah, Davari or Ghoochannejhad could.

No i got it from the fact that he doesn't want to lose his japanese nationality over Iran , he only knows less than 10 farsi words, and importantly he only wants to only play for iran just because we are in WC14 (japan rejected him too) !

We make fun of qatar but we are becoming the 2nd qatar in Asia!

It's not an easy decision for him my fellow Esfahani brother (I'm from Esfahan too :-). It's not like he's giving up his passport for a Danish or a Canadian one. I'm pretty sure you know how hard it is to travel when you bust out your Iranian passport.

Most of the members in this forum have a dual citizenship and we/our parents have gone through so much to be living comfortably.

I'm not sure if you have a citizenship of another country or not, but would you give up your foreign passport for Iran?

As much as I love Iran I wouldn't want to live so it's kind of unfair to expect someone who's never been to Iran before to give up his Japanese passport.

Japan is not a big country, and already a one of the most populous and dense countries in the world. if they were to open their doors to duel citizens they will be screwed!! you can't blame them, however in these rare situation they should have some sort of law to allow players to have two passports.
