I think it was Zobahan, but I have a really hard time remembering, so I might be wrong.

I really hope Team melli won't look like a team like Switzerland with foreign names/faces. In this case, every single praise for our TM in the case of good performance will go straight to kharejis.
Please put aside that ignorant exaggerated Persian nationalism. Hasegawa has an Iranian father FFS, that makes him half IRANIAN so eligible to play for IRAN. I hope he joins TM, will score the winning goal in the World Cup and the same people who bashing him will say that he is a legend.

First time I see an iranian whose name is Hasegawa...
It is not exagerrated Persian nationalism, National teams are not like clubs, that's all. It is your logic that is extreme, even ready to invite a player with 1% of iranian blood.
Instead of searching players with X% of iranian roots through the world (not numerous, not sure they will choose TM, not sure of their level), CQ should promote our young IPL prospects as they are our hope of a strong TM melli.
BTW I hope CQ will bring some iranians with him when he will go to Tottenham or ManU.

His father is Iranian, so don't come up with this strange comparisons. It's not like we are naturalizing some foreigner.

The main question is if he wants to play for Iran with all his heart.

If he has the quality to play for TM in World Cup shall be seen.

But this is the update thread, there are other threads to lead this discussion.

What an outrageous post. If this was written in the 1800's it may have some legitimacy but in today's modern world it is really silly and "Aghab Oftadeh" to write such nonsense.

And btw, what is the technical definition of a 'Persian face'? I have a sister who is 100% Persian but she is naturally blonde and has pale white skin, does this mean she not qualify as an Iranian in your book? So ridiculous

Of course, and Kun Aguero, Victor Obinna, Namanja Vidic and Landan Donovan fathers are iranians too! The thread is about the players so we can speak about him here too.

So.. If I married a japanese girl, and my child would be cheshm badooni, you wouldn't allow him to play for TM?
I'm guessing also if I marry a Swedish girl and have a child with her he shouldn't be allowed to play for Sweden, because he has some Iranian features? But it's cool for him to play for Iran, since it is so awesome to have someone in the team who looks "white" and "European"?

Also I'm not arguing wether he is good enough or not to play in TM, I also think we have some talented players in the IPL who should be called up to the national team, but your arguments leave me speechless...

i wrote Iranian face not persian face. Iranians can have either europeans in north iran(for the case you wrote), persian, arab, baluch, azeri, caucasian, etc... faces.
Call it aghab oftade, I call you Qatar oftade or "ultra capitalism" : being ready to find and invite a guy living in the other side of the world and who have 1% of iranian blood (not necerally hasegawa case but in general) just for the results.

Does anyone know what the tattoo on his left arm says? I think it's in Farsi or Arabic.
