Silva's broken leg was absolutely insane. I typically dont squimish but that was evil. Remindes me of that college basketball player who broke his leg like that.
ive always respected silva for his skill in the octagon but I hate him for messing around and playing games in the octagon. To me it is very disrespectful to treat your opponent and the fans. He fucked around yet again against weidman the first time and finally got rocked. Although the injury to him last night was horrible I cant help but feel like it was karma finally catching up to him. I think his fights against sonnen and now weidman removed that air of invincibility surronding him. Also at 38 age is catching up with him and now with this brutal injury I think fought his last fight in the octagon last night.
With regards to gsp, I really hope he comes back after sorting out his personal issues. I think just like silva, gsp is no longer the same man. He had taken more damage and hits to the head in his last 3 fight then he has in all of his previous fights in the ufc combined.
I think we are seeing a change of the guards. Silva and gsp look like they are done and even if one or both come back and continue to fight they are no longer that imposing figure that they were a year or 2 ago. 2 years ago it was almost unthinkable to think either of these 2 fighters could lose like the way they did (gsp lost to Hendricks if we are being objective but got the decision)
