    Afghanistan Football Thread

    Just thought i would open a thread for another persian country, their football is developing at a rapid pace and they could be in next years afc cup if they win the challenge cup in may, which they are favourites too. They have a game against Kyrgyzstan today and i will post the result as soon as i know.

      September 6 2013 - 0-0 (D) vs Maldives
      September 4 2013 - 3-1 (W) vs Sri Lanka
      September 2 2013 - 3-0 (W) vs Bhutan
      August 20 2013 - 3-0 (W) vs Pakistan

        Turkmenistan is probably a bit difficult. Am I right?

        Wish them qualification which will help Afghans to be more united.

          Turkmenistan shouldn't be a problem. Indonesia beat them 4-3.

                  Tajikistan defeated Afghanistan 1-0 in a friendly today. Afghanistan will play kuwait as their last preparation match before the challenge cup.

                    Their best player is Faysal Shayesteh, formerly in Heerenveen's youth team and has played professionally in Bulgaria. Now plying his trade in Thailand.

                    The Afghan NT coach is , former coach of Esteghlal.

                            This is last match of group phase I think. I really hope Afghan brothers will join us in Australia, this should be between them and Palestine from the other group.

                              Afghanistan recently won an award in "Sports Oscars" for cricket; I was watching the ceremony this morning on NBC.

                              Afghanistan have won the Laureus "Spirit of Sport" award in recognition of their swift rise in world cricket and their maiden qualification to the one-day World Cup
