Why unfortunately whats the significance of these 2 teams?

I said unfortuantely because these two teams represent the west and northwest of afghanistan (beside the iran border) and are the most persian teams of the competition, simorgh albroz is based from the Balkh province (were mazar i sharif is located), and toofan is representing the west of afghanistan mainly from herat province, where there is a big fanbase for aboomoslem

Also the Afghan Premier League kicked off a few weeks ago and currently unfortunately both Simorgh Alborz and Toofan Harirod are 3rd and 4th in Group A. In Tajikistan Vysshaya Liga, Istiqlol (Esteghlal) Dushanbe are first place in the league, with a 10 point lead over the second placed team.

Tajikistan U-23 beat Singapore U-23 1-0 in their first group match in the Asian Games. Siyovakhsh Asrorov scored the only goal in the 88th minute. Tajikistan also have Oman and Pakistan in their group. Afghanistan U-23 play their first match today 12:30pm Tehran Time against Bangladesh U-23. They also have Honk Kong and Uzbekistan in their group.
