korea has a great team that score line was a fluke and not at all representative of the two teams performances on the field. Korea actually played good and were unlucky. I still believe Korea will make it to the 2nd round and will be supporting them!

So you are half Tunisian, half Iranian.

SK does always well by important events, we do know this. Forget about friendlies. Consider these losses as " the calm before the storm" my friend.

IMHO Ghana is not only the best and most consistent African team BY FAR, I would even go as far as saying that they are in the top 10 teams on the world stage at the moment.

Don't forget, they were the only African team to make the round of 16 in 2006 eliminating the US and Czech Republic and finally bowing out to Brazil. And again in 2010 they were the only African team to advance to the knockout rounds and went as far as the QF's only losing out to Uruguay in penalty kicks.

I never forget when they were drawn to play Egypt in their CAF playoff for this world cup, how happy the Egyptians were that they didn't draw Algeria and I kept telling my buddies you guys are crazy if you don't realize this was the worst possible draw for Egypt. So they dragged me to an Egyptian restaurant to watch the game and 6 goals later all jubilation had turned into absolute shock and dismay, not to mention political dissing in pure MEern fashion!

I would say that as fas as firepower, they're at par with Brazil, Germany, Argentina and Portugal. If you get cocky or lose your focus in a game, they will absolutely punish you, not with one or two goals, but with many as they just did against S. Korea. Everyone can write them off in Group G this time, but I wouldn't at all be surprised if they knocked out one of the two countries I consider contenders this time (Germany and Portugal).

It shouldnt have took a ghana thrashing to realize iran is better than korea. Iran won both wcq games and if I remember correctly we have a much better record against them in the past 10 years
                5 wins 2 losses 3 ties

@thread starter... obviously S.Korea will have a much better display at the actual tournament. Friendly results do no matter.

I don't attest to the same belief that we must support our fellow Asian rivals at the WC. I particularly don't believe in that towards South Korea. We have suffered many heartbreaks at the hands of the Taeguk Warriors. You guys may attack me for this but I dont care, every WC I don't want Korea to advance out of the group stage. Hopefully they get thrashed at this WC.

While i think South Korea will have a relatively disappointing world cup, I wouldn't worry too much about a friendly result

I hope too. It's good for Asia anyway if they win.
Looking at their group, I can't say SK is in a tough group: Belgium, Russia, Algeria.
Except Belgium, the other teams are not really very impressive and therefore SK has all chances to have at least one victory.

Poor U.S. -- they got the hardest group.
