IT IS NOT FAIR TO COMPARE SPAIN OR AUSTRALIA HAVING PLAYED TWO GAMES WITH IRAN.

IRAN MAY HAVE PLAYED INTELLIGENTLY AT HIS FIRST GAME......BUT FRANKLY I DON'T LIKE TO SEE CONTEMPT FORAUSTRALIA OR SPAIN JUST BECUASE THEY GOT KNOCKED OUT.

THERE ARE 32 TEAMS IN THIS TOUNAMENT...WE CAN'T ALL GO TO 2ND ROUND.

Nigeria is the African champions and all of their footballers play top flight European football. They played badly against TM because TM didn't give them any other alternative. It's easy for you to say that they are bad just by watching this match, but what influenced them to play badly was TM's discipline.

You praise the Aussie for "playing football" or so called "trying", are you seriously suggesting that TM did not play football, or did not try? We have a much more experienced coach then the Aussies, which is why the Aussies are out and TM is still in this thing. If it were a vatani coach at the helm we'd have already been knocked out by having conceded three goals in the first match.

It all depends on ambition. I utterly despise Jose Mourinho and the terrible football his teams usually play.

I want my national team to be better than that. Yes, our strength is our defense, the way we played, we did that vs. Argentina understandable.

Not against a serial underachieving team in the WC (Which Nigeria are), in the first game, which is our easiest game on paper...with no ambition or plan to go forward.

Decent result, but a terrible advert for our football with all the world and their scouts watching.

Na khab nadidam dooste man, it seems to me that you already know who will win every match by watch a few friendlies, so why are you even watching if you already know who is going to advance out of each group. Let's all just watch a few friendlies and crown the champ based on that.

I say that we have an experienced coach which is why TM is still in the WC, while the Aussies decided on a domestic coach with zero WC experience therefore it's two and out for them, and you talk about Iran beating Holland and Chile.

Okay, lets! Yes, I believe that CQ will have had a much better game plan vs. Chili, which was the only match that the Aussies truly had a chance at gaining some points, but I say again due to the inexperience of their coach they loose their very first and most important match of their group.

If we want to get out of our group we must play very defensively and hit them fast and hard on counters!! That's the end of the story!! You may not like it now, but you will love it should Iran advance to the next stage, and will be praising TM.

^ Australia's coach is Romanian, not domestic.

Do your homework first. You are implying the reason Australia have lost their 2 games is because of their manager, as opposed the fact that they have faced 2 very very good teams (Who have also eliminated the reigning world champions)

And we are not hitting teams fast. We should be on paper. But we are not. Because our players are too nervous to control the ball under pressure and pass it on the counter and they just end up hoofing it , hoping for the best.

A smart counter-attacking game is nothing to be scuffed at, but defense and having ZERO PLAN or preparation to attack (or counter-attack) is just pointless.

In my opinion our entire goal scoring plan is through set pieces. Draw fouls in opposition box, and set piece. It's percentage game when you put all your attacking baskets on that, and it very very rarely pays off.

We'll find out I guess. I really wish I get proven wrong and we show more ambition and cohesion going forward in the next 2 games.

this was a very tough group and Australia did not have a chance in hell. Chile and Netherlands will go far in this tournament chile showed today just how dangerous they can be and for me this was the best defense i ve seen in this tournament they turned spain to rubbles and their tiki taka was turned into a mere tak tak for jej. ausies have an old team with a very wacky tabacky goalie i do not see them doing good in the asian cup neither.
