I'd still say the 1950 loss to Uruguay. That game was for the championship. This one was a semifinal and while the result was much worse but it was already wrapped up in 30 minutes and wasn't even close. In 1950 up until the last minute people still had hopes of winning the championship as even a tie with a last minute goal would have won the title for them. Also for most of the game they had the title as the went up and even when Uruguay equalized the title was still theirs based on points. Other than that anyone who really thought this team would win the World Cup was either delusional or perhaps thought the overall level at this World Cup had significantly dropped. Former Brazil international Walter Casagrande, said it best: "We have a bunch of players running around the pitch. We don't have a team."

i dont think anything is worse than the loss yesterday.
to me i feel like it was karma for country of brazil in general for the way they handled this world cup and their people. it sucks for their people to suffer through this but sometimes you need losses like this to bring you down to earth. for many years brazilian futbol was overrated and they are so c0cky they thought they had the wc already. their bus logo said #6 is coming or something.

I'd say the loss yesterday was far worse than that of 1950.
In 1950, Brazil had yet to win a World Cup so while the loss was a shock, it wasn't a complete humiliation.
In contrast, Brazil is the most decorated national team as of 2014. Given the social and economic situation of the country as well, the only way to semi-justify hosting the tournament would have been to win it. Not only did they lose, they lost in the most humiliating fashion (the worst in the country's history).

this loss was by far worse than the loss in 1950.
The 1950 loss was tough, BUT, this loss to Germany was simply shameful. You had thousands riot across the country for lack of food and jobs, while the football federation was spending millions preparing for this event. You are the host and you are Brazil. You see 5 goals in the first half and half your players surrendered in the first 20 minutes. Brazil has had weak teams in the past, but there was always an element of fear anytime you faced them. Now I bet half the teams in the world think they have a chance against this Brazilian side“It is easier to fool the people, than to convince them they have been fooled." - Mark Twain

To Germany!
in 1950 Uruguay was already two time world champion (edited: they became 2 time after the 1950 WC) and Brazil never won any WC.
in 2014 Brazil is the record 5 time world champion and losing in this fashion to the Germans is nothing short of a speechless bamboozled agressive shock!

This Brazilian team wasn't expected to do much especially in light of its poor results and neutral fans expected Germany to beat them. It needed a gift pk against Croatia, it tied Mexico, it tied Chile and squeezed past Colombia. The team of 1950 demolished its opponents: 4-0 against Mexico, 6-1 against Spain, 7-1 against Sweden. The 1950 game was surely one that they thought was already won and losing it was a bigger shock.I went to Sharif University. KC I see what you are saying but there is a difference between losing a chance at something when you are expected to get there and getting the embarrassed the hell outta you!
This game nobody will ever forget. People will talk for generations and Brazilians no matter how many more WC trophies they may have in the future, they will never get into a trash talking thing with germans. They are forever silent when it comes to germany vs brazil----1990 TM, You will always have a special place in our hearts

Germany was embarrassed by Hungary 8-3 in the 1954 World Cup. Argentina was humiliated 5-0 at home by Colombia in 1994 World Cup qualification. Do we ever hear about it?I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

17 years has gone by, the two teams have met a few more times since then but everyone still remembers that one! I have been living in Texas for the last 4 years, whenever ANY of these obnoxious diehard Texas fans sees I went to UCLA, they just shut up! Not only they don't trash talk, they admit we are their sarvar!
P.S. I was actually denied furniture at this store whose owner was a redneck UT fan when he saw my UCLA cap on! I am telling you fans will NOT look at this as just another game!----1990 TM, You will always have a special place in our hearts

UCLA beat them 66-3!!!!
