Yes Iran needed to win Saudi Arabia by 2 or more and they managed to win 26-21 in a beautiful game.. So we will play a mighty Qatari team who mostly consists of top foreign players.

On the other hand S.Korea will meet Bahrain who managed to beat Kuwait an hour ago.

tough game against Qatar for TM handball, qatar is a powerhouse in asia, we always struggle against them. hopefully we can pull another upset

Yes Iran needed to win Saudi Arabia by 2 or more and they managed to win 26-21 in a beautiful game.. So we will play a mighty Qatari team who mostly consists of top foreign players.

On the other hand S.Korea will meet Bahrain who managed to beat Kuwait an hour ago.

I hope Iran can upset Qatar and get revenge on them for losing 23-22 in February 2014 in the Asian Championship semis. Definitely "Qatar" is the favorite though.

Iran's best player is Iman Jamali. He is the first Iranian handball player to play in Europe. Although they say he is injured, there is something fishy going on with him because he hasn't played for Iran in the past 2 years. I hope he hasn't defected. He is still pretty young too at 22. There was also supposedly a fight between players and the federation. So other experienced players like the Esteki brothers aren't there either. I think the older Esteki brother is the one who scored the goal that sent Iran to the World Handball Championship for the 1st time. This is pretty much Iran's B team.

One would hope. There is no better place to showcase your talents. Iman Jamali didn't even play in the qualifiers.

pretty sure jamali has not been released by his club last 2 years, he's playing for one of the worlds top clubs and they finished top 4 in the CL last year. however for the WC it will be his 1st chance to play for TM since clubs will have no matches during WC, lets see if he gets called up

Wasn't Alireza Mousavi his teammate though? Was he released by the Hungarian club cuz he is playing in the AG.

Salimi won gold in his weight class. Don't know what happened to Molaei. He didn't finish. He was so promising last time at the World championship.. What a shame..

Hopefully he's not injured badly. Anyone have information on it?
