What do you guys think? Imo they have now surpassed Pele, Cruyff, Di Stefano, Ronaldo, Maradona...etc, only thing missing from both of their resumes is a WC. We are truely blessed to be alive at a time where not one BUT two "once in a generation" type of players are performing at the highest level, Cristiano will arguably be remembered as the most complete player ever, and Messi will be remembered as the greatest footballing mind ever. Messi's ability to read the game and find escape routes out of any situation is unlike other player we have seen, but Cristiano's "completeness", his ability to control the ball, score, with any part of his body, virtually do anything with a football imaginable is what puts him on the same pedastal as Messi if not higher. No disrespect to the other legends but I simply think these two are just on another level, there are no words to describe Messi and CR7 right now. It is really frighting. You can't compare these two to MJ or Muhammad Ali or Usain Bolt or whoever, these two are in a galaxy of their own. I don't think there is a question who will win Ballon d'or this year, but next year will be the defining year of the Messi v. Ronaldo debate, it will be either Messi 4 - 4 CR7 or Messi 5 - 3 CR7.

It's understandable people would pick them over players from previous generations that they haven't actually seen play such as Pele, Cruyff, Eusebio, Beckenbauer, Garrincha, Bobby Moore, Puskas, Piola, etc.I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

For me, i started following football in 1997, they are withouth a doubt the 2 best. Messi is slightly better in my opinion. They are that good, that people said that Messi was poor last season. He scored over 30 goals in La Liga alone. And for his standards, yes that was not really much. I think that says it all.
Before those 2, great strikers who became top scorers in good leagues, used to score around 20, 25 goals. Ronaldo already now has scored 25. 2 yrs ago Messi scored 50 in La Liga. Some of the greatest strikers of the past 15, 20 yrs would score 50 goals in 2-3 seasons. And im talking about players like Van Nistelrooy, RonaldoR9, Crespo, Vieri, Luca Toni, Batistuta, Makaay and 10, 15 other strikers.
These 2 are just not from this world.

Just for comparing, these are some of the best stats from the player i mentioned above.
Van Nistelrooy,
95 goals for ManU in 150 matches (0,63 goals)
46 goals for Real in 68 matches (0,67 goals)
Hernan Crespo,
62 goals for Parma in 116 matches (0,53 goals)
39 goals for Lazio in 52 matches (0,75 goals)
Luca Toni,
47 goals for Fiorentina in 67 matches (0,69 goals)
38 goals in 60 matches for Bayern (0,63 goals)
These are some great statistics from some of the worlds best strikers and they are about the same for other greats. RonaldoR9, Batistuta, Vieri, Makaay, Inzaghi, Kluivert, Shearer, ...
Now Cristiano
202 goals in 179 matches for Real (1,13 goals). Keep in mind that he probably also has assisted around 100 goals.

Pele - 619 goals in 632 matches (0.98 goals) during 18 years at Santos and 77 goals in 92 matches (0.83 goals) for Brazil in 14 years. Not to mention 3 World Cup titles.
Puskas - 508 goals in 521 matches (0.97 goals) during 23 years at Real Madrid and BH and 84 goals in 85 matches (0.99 goals) for Hungary in 11 years. Not to mention World Cup runner up.
Now compare those to CR for Portugal, 52 goals in 118 matches (0.44 goals) in 12 years.راه یکی است و آن راستی است
