Brisbane ball boy helps China to Asian Cup win over Saudi Arabia
A 12-year-old Australian is the toast of Chinese football after unexpectedly helping them to an Asian Cup football win against Saudi Arabia. Stephan White, a Brisbane ball boy, has been invited to train with the China team today as reward for his advice at the weekend.
White offered China goalkeeper Wang Dalei a tip as he prepared to face a penalty. As the Saudi Arabia player stepped up to take the shot Dalei asked White which way he should dive.
The youngster said left and Dalei took his advice, correctly judging which way the ball was being kicked and making the crucial save.
China went on to score the only goal of the match for the crucial win.
