2015 MLS Thread | Updates, News, Photos, Highlights, etc.

The league is picking up even more this year with the expansion of two teams and two bigger figures in world football with the arrival of kaka and villa.

Never really fully supported a team (always liked Seattle sounders for their unbelievable passion for an American club and the red bulls being they are my local team) but now with the arrival of NYC FC I can say I have a real team that I will support, it'll be interesting to see who they will add going forward and I can't wait till lampard arrives.

TFC is another really interesting team with giovinco, altidore, Bradley, findley, etc. I think they are on of the favorites to win the cup.

I know alaph, KC, and bachelot are all fans of an MLS team, anyone else?

Hope to see some more growth this year

I am planning to follow MLS from now on, I went to a LA Galaxy game last year when I was on holiday in USA. I liked it, the quality of football was good.

yeah man its definitely progressing a lot, more and more high profile players are coming to the league and US national team players who play/played in Europe are now returning at an earlier point in their career when they have a lot left in them (Dempsey, Bradley, altidore, diskerud, etc.) which makes it even better.

the galaxy have a decent team but with the higher level of competition im not sure how well they will do. watch out for teams like seattle, Kansas city, TFC, and dc united to go far.

My son is a big Red Bulls fan although with the new New York team this year he says now they are his favorite team. I guess I will know for sure when they play each other. I will probably take him to a game at Red Bull Arena this year although I won't mention they have 17 home games as I'm sure he will insist that we go and see them all.
I would love to see a preseason tournament between the Red Bulls, NYCFC, the Cosmos and a 4th NY team (perhaps the Rochester Rhinos of the 3rd division). There is already alot of bad blood and korkori between the first 3. There is actually a Cosmos billboard right outside of Red Bull Arena inviting people to come and see their games.

I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

I have to say MLS has improved a lot over the past 2 years, but it is still miles behind European leagues. EU players will never chose MLS as first choice in their prime unless MLS converts to a more European style of league.

I don't know how well the cosmos would be able to compete against NYC FC or Red Bull but I guess being that they have some two legendary players like Marcos Senna and Raul and some high calibour (for NASL standards) guys like Danny szelta and roversio (former team mate of Shojaie and Nekounam in Osasuna) would make them an interesting competitor against the two MLS sides. That bill board was obviously put there to ignite some korkori.

I'm definitely going to be looking to going to a bunch of NYC FC matches, in particular the match vs red bull. Can't resist the dirt cheap ticket prices.....but anyhow I'll probably be going with a big group of Iranians, definitely to the Vancouver matches when he is playing both NYC FC and Red Bull, would be nice if you'd like to meet up at the stadium with us!

Shame that NYCFC got the expansion team, I really would have loved to see the Cosmos revived and in the MLS, that is a classic American club.

If I'm not mistaken Cosmos beat the Red Bulls last year in the Open Cup. Just checked it, yup 3-0!
                When is the Vancouver game?

^ Oh wow I actually think I remember that now that you bring it up, totally slipped my mind.

Unfortunately they won't be playing NYC FC at Yankees stadium but rather in Vancouver so this game is a must go to for me, wanna see Steven up close. Would be great if you could join, my friends and I are looking to buy the tickets pretty soon.

I still prefer Mexican league, but the MLS is definitely making progress. Mexican league is pretty competitive and the teams can all pretty much beat each other. It's also very physical.

It will depend on the time. I believe my son has his Persian school graduation that day.

Im a big San Jose earthquakes fan, our team sucks but the only bright points are Wondo, Bernardez, and Gordon. And we just got in new stadium (Avaya Stadium), as sad as it may sound for the past couple of years we have been playing all of our MLS games at Santa Clara University, im really stoked for our stadiums opener March 22nd.

Some interesting news. MLS rosters are going to be smaller but base salaries are going to increase if the new deal is finalized.

Very good move IMO, it's time these MLS players got a raise, some of their yearly salaries were pretty shameful for an American professional sport!
