Its the number 1 sport here in South Africa for the white people. I really really dont enjoy watching it, but best of luck to our own Rugby players of course.

Iranians physically would be very good for Rugby. If we start teaching young people how to play, the investments could pay off very well in terms of results.

This thread hasn't been updated in a while.

As expected the 7s team did not make the Olympics, but it was a valuable experience for them to make the final stage. Results:

        v. Sri Lanka - 31-10 (L)
        v. Hong Kong - 46-0 (L)
        v. Malaysia - 29-12 (L)
        v. Philippines - 38-10 (L)

Rugby is one of the only sport, I wouldn't invest at all. It is a closed sports where the top countries won't never allow other to come in their top tournaments. Seeing how Georgia has incredibly progress and is still out of 6 nations tournaments + japan that have to bring 7 new zealanders to look serious in the world cup (even France NT has irish and south africans players!), makes you disguested by this sport.

Unlike football, you will never see the like of costa rica, turkey, south korea, ghana etc... progressing far in the world cup, so why lose our time and money for it?

          Let's invest in tennis instead.

The Rugby World Cup is the third most watched sporting event in the world (behind the Olympics and the FIFA World Cup). US will start their professional rugby league this year. http://www.theguardian.com/sport/201...y-union-league

Here is fantastic view on Iranian rugby by our former NT 7's coach Liam Dunseath. The sport is growing in Iran, and we are becoming more and more organized.
