Paul Scholes- Shaped the type of midfielder I wanted to be when I started playing in youth leagues. He could find anyone at any point of the field from anywhere. Andrea Pirlo openly said that the one man in the midfield that he feared most was Scholes.
Miroslav Klose- When I wanted to learn to play as a striker the only guy I would watch is Klose. I don't have the technique to be flashy so I would rely on being clinical. Klose is one of the most clinical strikers ever. Always in the right position, a monster at aerial balls, and the master of the one touch goal.
Alexis Sanchez- In a world of flashy wingers who dive, try to showboat, or worse this guy is very clear on how he will pass you. He will run straight at you and beat you by going left or right. I'm a Manchester United fan but I have to respect this talent. He also never gives up in the game which is becoming a rarer sight these days.
Guillermo Ochoa- Doesn't get enough credit. My favorite goalkeeper in the last worldcup and before. For someone who isn't super tall he is like an octopus when he makes a move at a ball coming at him with lightning speed.

Batistuta was a massive personal favourite of mine. I thought he was simply awsome at times. So strong, so ruthless. He could punish you from any angle. His goals against Arsenal at Wembley and Man Utd at Old Trafford summed him up perfectly. Give him an inch of space and he'd pull your pants down.

Zidane, cafu, seedorf, stam, nedved, totti, crespo, Raul, Jose Reyes, Henry, lampard... So many brilliant players back in the early 21st century. Now football revolves around the likes of some over hyped players...quite sad to see how the sport has "evolved"
