Yes. His points in the ranking are so high now that he has definitely qualified already! Each country has 4 spots for the Olympics per gender. All four of our top 4 players are currently in the top 6 ranking of their category. So if they keep it up the other 3 will also qualify.

Eyval!! I have a feeling that this Olympic can be even better than the 2012 games!! With our wrestling unbeatable, and hopefully volleyball also qualifies.

I agree. I think Taekwondo and Freestyle wrestling alone can get us at least 4 gold medals. Greco-Roman, weightlifting and discus throw can add to that.

^ remember countries can qualify "more than 2 athletes per gender" only through world ranking. so if any of these guys fail to qualify, there is no second chance for them.

while the female team can qualify two in continental qualifiers (assuming they won't qualify by world ranking)

maybe, maybe not, it depends on so many factors, still very early for such a prediction

just a little correction, we won only 1 gold medal in last world wrestling championship, I do not consider it being "unbeatable" . don't take results from mini tournaments like World Cup seriously where Russia send 3rd/4th tier wrestlers, World Championship is the only tournament matters. Russia won 5 of 8 freestyle titles last year. we have a very good freestyle team at the moment (second after Russia) but it will be really tough to win gold medal because of Russia.

btw volleyball will qualify 95%. the new qualification format gives much more chance to Asian teams.

our wrestling is not unbeatable. we rarely face the best wrestlers. actually our azad is not that 100% good shape. Yazdani is and wont be 100%. rahimi and esmailpour usually come up short on the big occasion. jordan bourrough will win his weight. actaully it doesn't look that good. greco might beat azad but even greco is not as hot as it was, nourozi is and was long time injured. sourian just walked off the mat in bulgaria and ghasem isn't what he was 3 years ago... i'm worried bout our koshti

as expected Nasr-Azadani lost in pre-quarters. being good 4 years ago means nothing, he was in shit form in past 2-3 years and could not even make the national team. new taekwondo is something different with new rules after 2012 Olympics. former national team members like Abdollahi, Nasr, Motamed and Karami are all just average under new rules mostly because of their height disadvantage.

Nasr was beheaded by the refs. His clear headkick wasn't counted. Unfair refereeing started earlier than I thought!

Another great semi-final between Iran and Russia and Iran wins by golden point again! Haji will play for gold in half an hour.

If we get 1 more gold, we are 99% team champion.
