Actually it's not bad at all.

The first two groups (Groups A & B) consist of the highest ranked teams from each confederation, and these 8 teams are automatically ranked in the top 8 of the final ranking of this tournament.

Also these two top groups have a much easier path to the finals than the other groups (Group C and onwards).
