And it's not too crazy to say that IRAN may end up topping the group if we continue to play like we did today.

USA Coach John Speraw: "We got beat by a better volleyball team"
USA coach John Speraw: "Two night ago, I thought
that the environment and play in this gym with these fans affected the way we
played the game. Tonight, Iran affected the way we played. We got beat by a
better volleyball team by significant margin. They outplayed us in every facet
of the game: block, defense, passing, serving, and offense. So there is only one
thing we can do, and that is to learn from this volleyball match to hope that we can
improve. We are a team and have some physical gifts, some big players who can jump
high and beat the ball, but we have to play the entire game much better if we hope
to be as a team as well-coached and skilled as Iran."
Speraw on Iran and his message
to Americans: "My first impression was that everyone here has been incredibly
hospitable. Everyone has been very nice. They have gone out of their way to make sure that we
had really nice experience here. I think we have enjoyed it tremendously. We had
the opportunity to get out into the city one day. We went to the [Milad Tower] and learning a little more about Tehran, and I think that is good for
us. We went to a nice lunch on the hills. I think we wanted to do those things
because I think we are all aware that the portrait of the relationship between
Iran and the United States is inaccurate in the media. Probably on both sides,
my guess. I think, what I know and have known from spending time with Iran and
the United States both last year and this year is that the relationship between
the people is not reflective of the relationship between our governments
and that the Iranian people are wonderful people and have treated us kindly. I think
we have shown the same because America is a wonderful country with wonderful people
too. Yes, it a great place, so the message we would bring back is this: it was a
great trip and we look forward to coming here again. And I think we have much
better understanding of what the environment is both inside the arena and outside."
Iran coach Slobodan Kovac added: "I want to say something about this. We want to return this hospitality (Mr.
Speraw said about); last year we stayed in the USA for more than fifteen days. Everything was perfect. They gave us the maximum things to prepare
for world championship."
Kovac continued: "In the first match, the atmosphere
surprised the USA. In this match, my players surprised the USA. I am happy. But four
more steps are to be taken to qualify. Thanks to my players. We played like a
team. All my players and my staff helped and we won two 3-0 results that was not
easy. We tried so hard. We played a good volleyball. I respect the USA. They are
the best team of the world because they are very disciplined and we should
learn from them."
Iran's captain,
Saeid Marouf: "I believe in my team and our two wins proved it. As I predicted, this
match was more difficult than the previous one. Thanks to our substitute players
that were really good. Iran was so good at both home matches. I hope this will
last in the same way. We must forget these two wins as we did forget the last
six losses before. We must try more now."__________________________________________________ ________________________________________

Iran Sweeps Home Matches Against Reigning World League Champs
Tehran, Iran, 20 June, 2015 – With their home fans loudly cheering
them on, Iran defeated the reigning FIVB Volleyball World League champions,
Team USA, 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-19) on Sunday. As soon as the match ended, fans
from Iran happily erupted into song.
Middle blocker Seyed Mohammad Mousavi Eraghi was dominant
for Iran, recording five points off of blocks, as Iran won the battle of the
block, eight points to three. Shahram Mahmoudi led Iran with 17 points, while Americans Matthew
Anderson and Aaron Russell both had nine points.
Home court advantage has meant a lot to these two teams at
the FIVB World League 2015. USA won both matches in Los Angeles in May, while
Iran also won in Tehran on Friday 3-0 (25-19, 29-27, 25-20).
USA still leads Pool B with 17 points, while Iran is in
third place with 13 points. Iran handed USA their only two loses in Pool B.

To qualify for olympics Iran needs to defeat all other Asian teams during the olympics qualification. Iran is at a higher level than the rest of Asia, so it is very likely we will qualify.
As for the olympics itself... depending on our performance in the current World League and the upcoming World Cup, making it to the final four of the World League and/or World Cup will probably make us favourites for olympics as well.
At this rate, Iran stands a good chance to make it to the final 4 of the World League.

The blocking was outstanding both games. Early on in this years world league they couldnt block to save their lives. Iran has a chance to make it out of the group thanks to its recent play. It goes to show you Iran can beat anyone in the world in volleyball if it plays to its potential. Its truly amazing how much our level in volleyball has increased in the last few years.
