I was talking with one of my former players the other day about the WWC and to be honest, this year so far the level of play has been far from good. I suspect the pitch being artificial and all has something to do with it, but you can see the divide between teams growing stronger and stronger. Realistically maybe 3 teams have a shot at winning this WC, and perhaps another 2 teams have an outside chance.

Oh, and if anyone thinks Hope Solo is the best keeper in the world, they are delusional. Clearly her game is off, and she has so much off pitch drama going on, it must be impacting her. I think McCleod from Canada is now the #1 keeper in the world. Worked hard to be where she is, and truly commands the box better than Solo does at this stage in the game.

Based on their performance and specifically their grass rolling it would appear that Thailand's coach is a 6-0er.
I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

        Quarter-Finals

        Germany - France
        China - USA
        Canada - England
        Australia - Japan

USA play boring football but get results as usual.

Japan will win it all! They play like their men did back in 2010

Unfair result. Germany has the chance to become the first country to be the men and women's champion.

France played better. I feel for the lone penalty misser.

She also missed an open net in the 117th minute.
France shouldn't have subbed off their right midfielder. She was constantly penetrating the German defense.

Damn, I was pretty sure France would beat Germany in the quarters and be in the final 4 before the tournament started. Really bad misses and an unfortunate penalty - too bad as they're my favorite women's team after Canada of course.

Looking forward to the Canada-England match today. Have had the Canadian flag hanging in the front window for a week!

Poor Sesselmann was sobbing at the end of the game although it was kinda justified as it was her mistake that lead to the eventual loss.

i think canada was overhyped this world cup and i think the QF is accurate to their level in world football right now, i predict a rematch of the 2011 final, japan is much more technical than america but america's physicality will likely overpower the japanese

Quarterfinals seems right for them but it was the way that they went out that was painful (for them and specifically Sesselmann).
I see Japan making it to the final. I'm not sure about the other team. It could be either one.

Say what you will guys, but I think the officiating in that game was worse than Ben Williams' masterpiece. She completely killed our momentum in the 2nd half with dozens of calls that made no sense at all. Even when we were getting fouled on, she was calling it England's way - not to mention a yellow card to us in one of those instances.

I think England played very dirty and was it not for a couple of individual errors from Canada (Sesselman & Chapman) and all the help they got from the screwed up Uruguayan referee, it was definitely Canada that deserved to be in the semis. I've taken a lot of football disappointment in the last year!

We are currently witnessing a revolution in Iranian football. Team Melli has never been stronger than it is today, and we will only get better.
