^ they are leaving for a tournament in China. Bauermann dropped 4 more players, even though apparently these players are not completely out and will join the team later.

these 4 players are Rouzbeh Arghavan, Mohammad Ojaghi, Hamed Hosseinzadeh and Jonas Lalehzadeh. other 16 players will travel to China.

Iran will play China, Italy and Slovakia in Chinese tournament in preliminary round. Lithuania, Japan, Australia and USA are in other group. I assume some of these teams are "B" team, no idea about the US team. not a high level tournament. apparently only Iran and Japan (and maybe Slovakia) will be there with A team.

its good to play matches to learn the new systems of the coach, defensive systems and all...it wont hurt, against who ever they play.
It clear that he had to get down to 16 for this tournament, doesnt make sense to have 20 players at the tournament. Im sure Arghavan could still make the team, not sure about the other 3. We will see.
              thanks for the news!

here is an interesting interview with Bauermann
                http://www.isna.ir/fa/news/940503008...F-%D8%A8%D9%87

when they ask him which player impressed you more, his answer was "Arman Zangeneh" !

he says they will go to Germany to play 2 games and have a camp before the Jones Cup in Taiwan, he didn't give an exact date though.

he also says Iranian guards are good but short, and they can't compete with the bests of the world because of that.

his comment on Kazemi, Farman and Derboghosian "I can't ignore hardwork of these players in camp and add a new player overnight, if it happens that player should be something extraordinary, which I can't see at the moment but this is not my final decision and maybe it changes"

correction: he doesn't say that he doesn't see anything extraordinary. He says that player has to be something extraordinary but he is not thinking about making that decision now

Iran lost the first game at the tournament 64-68, without Samad vs China B. Im sure they had tired legs. Hamed was right, the tournament comes too early. But in my opinion, just too early to win. Its still good preparations to play matches to learn the new systems. Results matter later
