The environment is designed to be a fun, relaxing and family oriented. That is the business model of MLS. If you go to any sports stadium/arena in US you will see the same pattern. If you start to get a bit rowdy they will kick you out!!

I follow MLS as I have many friends who are season ticket holders, US has the potential and they have seen the potential of this market and they will use it to grow. Just watch while we are still stuck which kor kori, MLS is growing and has already surpassed IPL and it will continue to grow more.
You are right about the family atmosphere but different strokes for different folks. I get free tickets for Galaxy games and been to many because I have 2 kids that are in AYSO teams and we get free tickets (wouldn't pay to see an MLS game). Half of the people in the stadium are like me and the kids. We go to have a good time together and get in for free (pay for parking and outrageous prices for a hot dog and nachos though). There are a group of 40 to 50 die hard fans and the rest are like us. Is this exciting? Not for me but I like bonding with my kids and getting them more interested in sports more. I would rather go see the Lakers or the Clippers. And both IPL & MLS suck for different reasons.

I am sure if you go see an IPL game live you would not be impressed either! the games are hit or miss. on average few good games come out of the league each year. you would be excited if you followed the team. these teams are all new, in the last 20 years or even younger. one full generation is needed for a team to gain the die hard fans.

you can't expect a league that is only 20 years old to have a crowed like Europe. give it some time and you will see.

Just look at it this way:
Beitashour who is one of the better right backs in the mls, and who was actually called the best right back in mls by his coach when he went to Vancouver, is behind 3 ipl right backs in tm's depth chart.

And one of the RBs that recently gets regularly called up ahead of him played in one of the rock bottom teams of the league, Rah Ahan.

IPL is not better than MLS for the simple fact that IPL players dont have the fitness or stamina to finish a 90 min game. MLS at least has the right facilities, and resources to develop fitness and they can somewhat play up to european standards. No way in hell would our teams be able to put up a good fight against these european teams that come to play in US. i know its preseason bs but any IPL team would probably lose 5-1 to barcelona in these friendlies where as Galaxy loses 2-1 or red bulls beat chelsea 4-2

tell me what IPL team can put 4 past chelsea these days please lol

Both leagues need plenty of improvement. I'd actually like to see some friendly games between clubs of both leagues to get a better idea which one is better.
On the topic of players in Europe the US has had more. Speaking about current players in Europe I think I can count Iranian players on my 2 hands. Not the case with the US. Many US players return to MLS by choice even though they have been thriving for their clubs in Europe. Most of our players leave Europe because their European club no longer wants them.
I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

This is the reason why the US national team will never get better, and never be as good as the 2002 team.

The last friendly that I can remember between an Iranian club and a top club was between Perspolis and Bayern Munich.
Other than that Perspolis played Zenit a few years ago.

If MLS is a league which produces good players, you would think Beitashour should be considered by Carlos Queiroz to play for Iran during a World Cup or Asian Cup. But in fact, he has been off the roster for a year now after riding the bench for most time. Our IPL right backs are currently higher ranked than one of the best right backs from the MLS Beitashour. No need for any analogy, CQ with his pedigree made this decision himself. I will go by what he thinks.

And we know exactly what CQ thinks of IPL?!? that is why he will go for anyone abroad first before players in the league!! He knows the league is Piss Poor.

I used to think that CQ looks for players abroad first, but it seems that the trend has changed.

I mean, there are a couple of players who are Team Melli material but they haven't been called up at all. Radjabali-Fardi and Hasegawa are those who could be a fine addition to our squad, but if you look at the previous camps you see that most of the players are domestic. Maybe Carlos realized that there is potential and talent in the IPL, and maybe he does not look for abroad players anymore. Just my observations. Davari was pretty much the last player from abroad he called up, and he happens to be off Team Melli for a while now.

thats horrible analogy. first off US is far from Iran so its not as easy as bringing players from Europe. the league also has a funky schedule compared to rest of the world. and so what if CQ doesnt pick him over someone who is already in iran? thats just a RB and he's not world class for him to really want him that badly. so i would prob put up with a local player as well, unless the gap in talent is much greater. He already knows Beitashour's capability so if we get closer to world cup or the hard qualifiers, i wouldnt be surprised if he called him up.

could it also be that we do not really have anyone in Europe anymore, so he has to look at IPL as he has no other choice?!? I mean a beggar cant' be a chooser.
