I've noticed that the only people who think mls is good are Americans. Go look at other soccer forums and you will see that genuinely only Americans think it's even remotely any good. I've watched many mls games as there are 3 Canadian teams involved. I've never seen anything from the league to think that it's going to be a top league in the future or anywhere to close top European leagues. Of course no one is saying the ipl doesn't have flaws or doesn't need to improve, but acting as if the mls is football wise some different world is just untrue and really just shows the bias of some members.

it has nothing to do with being American, i dont even watch or follow MLS im just saying its comical people think IPL is better when we have no future plans, no growth, no fitness level, not even half decent professional and our team melli has never even made it past group stage while Americans have more than once. Its no mystery they play top teams all the time, they have the facility, they have more money, connections, growth, etc.......its not a top league but it is set up to be one in the future.

we're still playing in a 40+ year stadium and our 2 popular teams dont even have their own stadium.
Inter and AC Milan also share the same stadium.

When it comes to talent and individual class, our league is far better than the MLS

IPL is only worse in infrastructure, MLS is super slow pace, the new players are good, but MLS needs better talents from young ages.
I have to strongly disagree with this brother, no way is it a slow pace league. Physical strength and stamina are two things this league has....especially with all the big group of Caribbean, Hispanic, and African players in the league....they're all very fast players. There are some teams here and there that play slow paced soccer but they have that in every league.

Also idk how much soccer you've played here in the states (I assume a decent amount) so you should know just as good as I do how hard coaches here are on players when it comes to running....most coaches especially at the youth and college level don't even start touching the ball after at least an hour of physical conditioning/running. At the college level they all have two-a-days where one session is just for physical conditioning.

You can easily see the tactics etc. If any thing our league needs to study and see what MLS has done to get this far in a such a short time and implement it in IPL. The fact that you have big name players coming over is simple, they could easily get the money to go to UAE or Qatar but playing for a respectable league, and playing in a league that is in North America is more enticing than in a desert.
I'd agree with most of this. Our league definitely needs to take a look at the vast improvement over the years and see what they've done right to grow as much as they have. And the attraction to a growing and more respectable league is spot on as well....these guys could get the same if not more money in the Middle East but don't go because mainly due to what you just said. It's definitely both growin and more exciting,

I'm not sure if the average MLS game is more exciting though. Our mid table teams IMO have all gotten a lot stored over the last few years after CQ was able to influence IFF enough to reduce the teams, the quality has definitely gone up. For example, look at teams like your own Saipa who has been able to snatch some valuable points away from most of the title contending teams last season.

You can't reasonably and confidently say Naft would beat Seattle or New England.....they're more or less on the same level. MLS relying more on foreign players than Iran has nothing to do with a head to head match up.

No need for any analogy, CQ with his pedigree made this decision himself. I will go by what he thinks.
Awful example, this is just one position. Also this was said back a few years ago when he was in good form, idk why everyone still talks as if this was recent news that he was dubbed one of the best RB in the MLS. At the time that was the case, he was the second best RB after montazeri in CQ's opinion.

Also if you want to compare our RB's to those in the MLS that doesn't make our league better? What about the awful GKs with lack of basic fundementals or our strikers who can't score more than 12 goals in a season (other than edinho)?

The MLS would beat the PGL in a position to position matchup other than the RB spot. Name me any other position and I will name you an MLS player as good if not better than a PGL player. CAM's and GK's in the MLS destroy PGL counterparts.

This would actually help people in favor of MLS.....I was in the stadium today and everyone was complaining how we couldn't do shit. They were crossing aimlessly like most PGL teams and looked flat, the team was way too reliant on individual brilliance in order to make something happen. Ahmadzadeh was trying hard in the first half and looked dangerous but the team didn't look much like a team and definitely didn't keep the ball in a special way like you're saying.

Yes. Correct. But, MLS is still slow paced because the players are not good passers, they don't play quickly and take forever. It has nothing to do with fitness.

Ajab. First half we were keeping the ball well, that is Iranian mentality, those people in the stadiums, they think that all the time something needs to happen. Why not keep the ball and be patient? If we can't do anything, we might aswell keep the ball so they can't do anything aswell! If we stuck the same way as we did in the first half after Padideh scored their second, we would have won at least 4-2. Second half was woeful though.

Everytime I watch an MLS game I start laughing because of how shitty it is.

The last time I watched an IPL game was 5 years ago: It was PP vs Esteghlal on my Dad's Iranian Sattelite service. From what I read on the forum, it doesn't look like IPL has gotten worse, but I remember not laughing as much (to myself because my Dad is a no nonsense guy) watching that game....

Ok, we can agree to disagree on this topic. But, we can all agree that the MLS is not a good league. Look at the comments on MLS's facebook post regarding the potential move of the championship or the belgian pro league:http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/articl...ounding-la-gal. these guys are so delusional. they think they are way above the belgian league and above the championship, one guy even commented that their top teams would do well in the premier league. this is part of the reason i have a dislike for us football teams and mls, the ignorance and arrogance of fans, they think they are the best and loudest fans in the world, but lets put them in the lower tier of azadi where 95,000 men are above the screaming and then lets say what they will say

not for long. Milan got approval for their new stadium. And that was a historic one for both. They also have more stadiums they can play in but Azadi is like our only stadium that we can take foreigners to. I dont think ive ever seen a TM game or someone visiting playing in any other stadium....unless is ACL

I remember back when Branko was the Head coach we had some games in the Imam Stadium in Tabriz. again this goes by to convenience by IFF (partly). for example the stadium in Ahvaz, or the stadium in tabriz are not a bad venue for TM games, i bet more people will show up then they do in tehran.

Not having access to the EPL I am just getting a chance to see what a beast Drogba is. I'm not sure how he brought the ball down on his first goal. On the third goal he kicks the initial shot so hard that even though the keeper saves it he gets thrown into the goal from the impact.
