As I have understood, all the teams have to play each other, right? And then they just get ranked?

Iran has the potential to beat the both of them and therefore could be considered a favorite.

Russia and Italy will be different teams here with new coaches, European teams will take World Cup MUCH more seriously because they know if they fail to qualify here their chance will be limited to qualify from Europe while other teams like Iran, USA and Argentina most probably will qualify from their continent.

on paper Iran is 5th behind those 4 big teams. but in a good day it's very possible for Iran to beat some of them and even finish on podium.

Btw, Iran Under 19 plays Italy in the quarterfinals of the FIVB Boys Under 19 championship on Friday.

In the group phase they won from Chile, Taiwan, Bulgaria but lost against Poland.
In the 1/16 Round they trashed Germany with 3:0.

I expect a win for iran but in the semi-final they could meet poland or china. And poland beat us in the group phase so it will be difficult.
