^^I do not follow wrestling but from the sounds of it, it looks like we are not doing really well!! and looks like Sorian cost us a spot in the Rio Olympic. what a bummer, Wrestling is the only sport that brings us medal in Olympic and it is the sport we need to make sure we get all the spots and yet we failed again!! so fucking frustrating

sourian still has decent chances to make it. 2 tourneys he can go to both and has decent chance. even if he fails again or gets injured i read there are wild cards and in that case he should get one

They won't give wld card to Iran or any other good wrestling nations, wild cards are for very weak countres likes Burkina Faso or American Samoa.

there are 3 more tournaments left for Sourian and others, Asian qualifier and 2 more world qualifiers, even 4 years ago Sourian missed the Worlds, then won the silver in Asian qualifiers to qualify for London Olympics.

in wrestling you lose the match if you get pinned, Akhlaghi was up 7-0, only 1 point away from technical superiority but in a second he gave up a 4-point throw and got pinned. later they challenged the decision and lost another point to make it 5-7. still he lost the match because of the fall.

he could win the gold tonight, but still finished with a bronze medal few minutes ago.

so Iran got 3 Olympic quotas here, 3 more left for future qualification tournaments.

so mohammadi has a cuban canadian in last 8 will win it ishallah but will then lose to azb asgarov, he's just too quick and too good. azb will wrestle russia in final and it could be epic one of the best finals in this years WC

mohammadi will go for bronze vs asgarov. its 50/50. but atleast mohammadi secured olympic spot! the cuban marquez was sick what an athlete!

I couldn't believe he lost to the Italian wrestler at the semis, by fall.
too bad...
but he did well in other fights, hopefully he gets the bronze.
Main thing is, as you said, he has an Olympic spot.
