China gets to play this competition on their own turf which makes a big difference. These same guys can win again.
There is no shame in losing, i was just disappointed that China dominated us when we have so much experience. Most of this team has been around since 2007 and Haddadi just let that other big chinese dude dunk all over him. He really has lost his dominance, there was a time even NBA players werent attacking the basket with him under there.

i'm just frustrated at how little our players improve over time. They dont learn from their mistakes.

We've been the best team in Asia for a number of years now. You can't win all the time and that's a fact of life. China has three 7footers in their team and its hard for Haddadi to take on everyone by himself. Nevertheless I am optimistic this team can bounce back but there needs to be a lot of hard work done.

I actually thought that we had quite a few great young players with big potential: Jamshidi, Yakhchali, Mashayekhi and Hassanzadeh looked really promising. Jamshidi looked pretty good in the WC last year as well.

I'm confident that we will bounce back and will keep consistent performances for the years to come

Why wasn't Hassanzadeh played in the semis? Does anyone know?
From what I remember he barely had any playing time, I think he only came on the 4th quarter.

His last time achievement with our national team most likely. He said he want to retire from NT previous to this competition.

Hamed Haddadi said that, not Samad

In memories of two great brothers and Iranian basketball players.

Thank You guys, we had good memories since 2007. I enjoyed watching great basketball played by our 2007 generation. It seems the team is in serious decline now. No matter what I remember them and their awesome performance.

Idin bahrami was the truth. He would've helped our basketball much more than samad and hamed. Sucks that he got into that car accident ;(

I was a fan of Idin. I used to watch all of his matches. Arguably Samad was a better player but having Idin in our team was a great advantage and better boost for all specially Samad. Idin was a true gentleman and a leader. He was truly missed in all these years. I had the privilege to meet both Samad and Idin through a friend.

A shame he didn't play, he would've definitely improved our play in the paint. Maybe the coach wanted to stick to his old and trusted veterans. If so, that was a regrettable idea.

Idin was an amazing player. I keep getting pissed off about why he had to leave us. His 3 pointers were amazing! We would have achieved much more with him in the team.

Bauermann signed at a russian team. Does that mean that Iran doesnt want him anymore?...wouldnt be smart.
