our olympic basketball hopes are very low. We barely had a chance of going through anyways but now that 3 of our best players are out those chances are even lower now.

The qualification tournament for basketball starts from July 4-10th.

3 teams will qualify.

Iran's Group:
Greece
Iran
Mexico

Croatia
Italy
Tunisia

Top 2 teams from each group advance to semis. There is 3 brackets with a total of 18 teams participating divided into 3 pools. In each pool there are 2 groups with 3 teams in it.
Iran has to finish first out of these 6 teams which is very unlikely. If they can beat Mexico and finish 2nd in their group they will advance to the semifinals. They will probably either face Italy or Croatia in the semis and lose there.

Ho tore his ankle ligament about 6 months ago. It is an injury that usual takes 6+ months to recover even for footballers.

yea there is no chance for Iran basically.

It kinda sucks because IF Kazemi does go to this qualification, he will most likely also miss NBA summer league which starts mid July. Unless he can join a team right after this qualification is over. Maybe he can put up a good display in this qualification and catch attention of some NBA team (?)
