He will become a key player for our team after OG, somehow like Sardar.
Unlike freestyle wrestling we avoided a controversial and stupid/shameful decision.

There is a weekly show on Varzesh TV called Roohe Pahlevani (Pahlevani Spirit) which followed the full story, with interviews from all sides and I can give the link for this show to anyone interested.
Based on what I heard from Hadi, he was robbed big time. To make it short, Khadem told him in April that he was going to Rio for sure (at that time Komeil already had 2 or 3 bad performances on international tournaments), then just before the World Cup they told him that both of them will be sent to an international tournament after the world cup to determine who will be sent to Rio.
According to himself again, Parviz spoke with Khadem earlier in the season and asked him to hold a match between them as earlier as possible, before the World Cup in order to pick someone soon and let him prepare in the best way for Olympics, something which finally didn't happened for any of these 2. Still they said the one who will get the better result will go to Rio.
After the World Cup, they were sent to Armenia and Hadi WON that tournament against FOREIGN Wrestlers including some good Georgians while Komeil failed in 2nd round. Then, despite this and all promises Hadi was informed that there will be a final match (best of 3 bouts) to determine our wrestler in Olympics, while he was in Tabriz and that both of them were already exhausted. They told him that the bout will be held in something like 7 or 10 days, whereas it was held finally about 3 days later and not at the time they announced him (in the morning in place of afternoon). He had to return to Tehran when Komeil was already there, and had held one match less than Hadi in Armenia.
Komeil won that match by 2 wins to 1, because Hadi clearly showed tiredness from the middle of the of the second bout while he dominated clearly Ghasemi in the first one.
The point is that both of them are very good wrestlers for our country, but Ghasemi has showed very average performances this year, except in World Cup but that wasn't special too.
Also the most important thing is that he has failed in international competitions, against foreign wrestlers which will compete in Rio. The only thing which matters is results in international competitions, for exemple we have Nouri in Greco who won trials but failed badly against foreign wrestlers which means that they had to pick Akhlaghi in 85Kg GR and made the right choice. Hadi won in the Armenian tournament, he should have been selected before, but this was enough to pick him. He succeeded when it matters, but still they changed their words and did not respected what they said earlier invocating that the "Technical Commission" hasn't decided yet.
Whoever they would pick, they could have done it with honor and respect which is the most important thing in wrestling, however they didn't and the selected wrestler was announced after all this amateurish cinema exhausted with 3 weeks to come before Olympics, that's how they screwed our chances in this category.

Hadi is only good against average wrestlers, he never beat a top level wrestler. this is a joke when he and his fans claim he was "tired" !! he wrestled 3 times in Armenia, Komeil wrestled twice, only one less , on other hand Hadi wrestled only once at the world cup (against someone 40kg lighter than himself), Komeil wrestled twice.
Komeil won the quote himself beating Shabanbay 10-0, the same wrestler Hadi only narrowly beat at the Asian Championship, yes Komeil was in shitty shape recently, he was terrible at the World Cup, he was terrible in Armenia and I believe none of them can win Olympic medal this year but at least with him we can hope if he improves physically , he is smart enough to win something, he is a two time World/Olympic medalist while with Hadi we already knew his maximum. Hadi lost head to head trials to Ghasemi, that was stupid of him to even complain. he had his chance but lost it. actually he lost both matches with exactly the same scenario. which once again proves he has no brain nor tactic. he is just big and physically strong.
there is an unwritten rule in wrestling trials in Iran, when you are underdog you have to prove yourself twice. for example Nasiri beat Mohammadi (even though injured) at the trials, still they sent both of them to the world cup, none of them were good, again in Armenia Nasiri won silver while Mohammadi lost early, which means Nasiri was better than Mohammadi in 2 different days and that secured him the Olympic spot, while for Hadi, he was better in Armenia but could not prove it once more to make the team, simply.

Makhov wrestled in Greco-Roman and won a bronze few days before and had to cut 5 more kilos and still beat Hadi quite easily. watch that match again, and see how Hadi gave up two super stupid cautions !

I also took tactical aspects into consideration but that wasn't the point. The only thing which matters is the way we came to this drama. They could have easily avoided this if they didn't gave false promises and could have stay on their words. What is sure in this story is that either Hadi or Khadem and co are big liars and this is shameful, what is the most important thing isn't who is the best etc ... but how shamefully and stupidly some people acted before thinking about the NT and their honor.
In 2016 we should have avoided all that mess, just like Norouzi's story last year, just like tens of similar stories.
Also about that match with Makhov, I have to add from your own words that Hadi was injured at that time. This doesn't change how he stupidly gave these cautions back to back, but keep in mind average performances from Komeil till 2015 WC or even generally 2014 World Championships, which basically means 2 years of underperforming. Of course he is smart, and thanks god he is because otherwise what would he do ? He is at least 10Kg lighter than most of these guys in 125, this is already a disadvantage in each bout and this means that he will be tired sooner. Also there is no Gatsalov anymore in this category, most guys are really huge and at least on that aspect Hadi has nothing to fear from them. I had really high hopes on him in 2015, and I was more than angry on him after the way he easily lost that match, but people makes mistakes. It was his first Wcs, probably first time he was fighting on world level except meaningless World Cup, I don't think that they would have kept him if he couldn't learn from his mistakes, Komeil himself lost stupidly to Dlagnev in 2013 in his first experience at Wcs.
I don't take that direct confrontation as something fair, if what Hadi said is true that means that firstly he didn't had enough time to recover at least as much as his rival and also they changed the match time few times which led to him being unprepared and exhausted after only 1 match.
He proved it more than once in recent years.
In this dual I don't support any of them, as I said both of them greatly contributed to our country and made huge sacrifices for years in difficult situations, I am just sad about how they treated both of them generally (this is not a way to prepare correctly for Olympics for Komeil) but even more in Hadi's case which is far from what we should expect to see in IRANIAN WRESTLING. This is sad to see how amateurish and stupidly our officials operate, even more from Khadem who seemed to be one of the few if not the only one man caring for our wrestling after years of clowns and dozd who ruined the federation, but he has showed in recent times that he is just like others and has his own mafia despite some good decisions he took, however he is a good actor in front of cameras.

Take a look at this so called nation of "Azerbaijan". Russians, Ukrainians, Slovenians, traitor-"Iranians". What a joke this is being allowed. Same with their "brothers" in Turkey with all the Africans and Jamaicans! Thats the deal with nations without history, culture or civilization.

Olympics without Russia is something crazy, like the World Cup without Brazil.
And also what it will mean for us, mostly in Freestyle wrestling where it will change everything and also for some weights in GR, plus less opponents in some weights in WL.

However, it will be good news for our weighlifters in 105 kgs and 105+ kgs.
Salimi was beaten to 2nd place by Russians at the last world championship and before him Molaei was beaten by Russians too in 105+ kgs.
At 90kgs, 105kgs, and 105+kgs Russians have always had amazing lifters.
And Wrestling of course....CHECK OUT OUR FORUM RULES HERE: http://www.persianfootball.com/forums/faq.php
