Emphasis is placed where there is money or more money. Many of these tracks are closed to people because some people abuse or destroy these facilities.

First of all most of these tracks are unuseful, they can't be used for Athletics because they are not on standards but they are also a problem for football as they take space and are not used by anyone.
Anyway Track and Field activity is not allowed in most of them, for exemple the only field in Tehran is on Enghelab Complex (Shahid Keshvari stadium) despite all stadiums in Tehran with a so called athletics track.
      The problem isn't that simple.

It's just frustrating knowing that with the money Iran has, they can easily invest in better facilities, equipment, and player development; still they choose to mismanage funds and do nothing to solve corruption. They should follow the Japanese model, but sadly I know they won't, not any time soon at least.
Japan has interest in sports and invests in it.
IR has interest in Irak, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and invests in it.

Hopefully the gedahs running the Sports Ministry realize this.
Actually the 2012 team was very young on all perspectives, and many of them are still in the team and at age peak.
I will just give you few exemples on what you said:
Ehsan Rouzbahani, Elaheh Ahmadi, Noshad Alamiyan .....
We all know in which circumstances and with which support they train, so they've realized it long time ago and if they wanted to do something they could have done it a long ago.
So the answer is no, they won't have more support than Somali Pirates team.

By the way guys, I haven't seen anyone mention our good chance at getting a medal in discus.
Also I don't know much about Rajabi but does she have a good chance of getting a medal in shot put?

I can't believe Kyle Chalmers (only 18) from my little old Adelaide (small city in Australia) won gold in swimming yesterday out of nowhere!

I wish more of the Iranian athletes had his mentality of not listening to the naysayers. They said he was too young, too inexperienced, and he ended up being too good for his much older opponents.

              Very inspirational!

Rajabi's chance is less than zero

as for discus throw, Haddadi was terrible the whole season, never threw the damn discus more than 64 metres. so no our chance is not good here, miracles happen though.

in olympics, the important part is to qualify for final and as hadadi said he can throw one very good throw, in final and win a medal just like london

this is how you invest in sport, joseph schooling of singapore just made it to the final of 100m butterfly with the faster time in the world, singapore generally weak in sports like swimming have a chance for medal, if iran could have send a few swimmers to aus or usa we could have had a say also

Japan is far from this dangerous region called middle east. Japan is an ally of the usa while Iran is stuck in a cold war with usa/israel and this has gone so far that the reverse way is unrealistic (see what is happening now)

Iran doesn't need to send their swimmers in usa to train but just find them a good "doctor"

Unless some sort of injury happens the deadlock will be broken tonight and we will get our first medal. Go Kianoush.

That is nothing. Penny Oleksiak...16, has already won a silver and 2 bronze...and last night came back from 7th in the freestyle to win gold with an OR. Even Phelps didn't do so well in his first olympics!

Didn't they just pull a Qatar. Didn't schooling fail to make team USA and he jumped over to Singapore?
