Sorry, I know next to nothing about basketball.
let me tell you why. Right now the people of Atlanta don't know him. All the other guys in the running have been with the Hawks for at least this summer league and done for more. When people see a lot votes then they will get curious and will start watching his lights and the buzz might create the coaches to play him more in the preseason which will enhance his chances. Right now his main disadvantage is that nobody there knows him except for the players.

Screw IR. If they hadn't caused problems for Arsalan's sarbazi maybe we wouldn't lose today.

its not IR. it's the head of federation who believes they don't need Arsalan! If he wanted to, he could have solved his sarbazi problem. And I have no doubt that with Arsalan. Tenacious defense and speed, Iran would have won today

That is also true. But our coach wouldn't care and would have played him no matter what if he didn't have Sabazi issue. They have a good relationship as far as I have heard. Also I know Samad and Oshin have talked against Arsalan in the past too! Still he would have made a big difference to out terrible game today!

samad is the main reason ak is not with the team anymore with his band bazi. Dirk loves Arsalan and Arsalan loves Dirk. He would join the team in a heartbeat if he could

honestly it wouldnt have helped his NBA chances if he went to Asian cup. Preseason starts next wednesday and he needs to be with his team to get a spot.

IMO Olympics is more important than the league. It is any country's first priority in sports.

not NBA man. Its a once in a life time opportunity for AK to get in and he has been screwed by sixers for 2 yrs, its now or never. He is our last great hope to make NBA, unless another youngsters comes up soon. Our basketball isnt going anywhere so making olympics one time just to lose 5 games isnt worth risking a long NBA career that could benefit our basketball far more than a few games in a tournament.
