Josh Howard plans to join D-League in hopes of NBA return
I don't know Arsalan's full story or what personal/financial obligations he has, but his move to snub the D-league is by far the worst thing he could have done for his career.
If you have former NBA players going through a D-league system to get back in the NBA, why does Arslan think playing for Aftabe sazi-e Khomain or Some random Chinese league will further his overall career?

He would have to get 20 rebs/game and 4steal/game to get noticed there.

There are two ways you can go to the D league. One purely as a d league player which pays maximum 25k a year. The second way is that you have an NBA contract and your NBA team sends you there to develop your game. In that case you get your NBA salary. That was the case with hamed.----1990 TM, You will always have a special place in our hearts

Jimmer Fredette , Former 10th overall pick Is now playing in the D-league after being cut by the Pelicans.
That's right 25k is not apperently below a Former College All-star hoping to return to the league.
Again, I don't know exactly what Arsalan's goals are in life, or if he is even interested in playing basketball professionally, but another season in Limbo or a shitty Asian league will not help his potential to play in the NBA. So frustrating to see such a talented player go to complete waste.

Yeah you might be right but Jimmer Fredette and every team knows he is not good enough for the NBA, that's why he is opting to play in the D-league.
Arsalan is good enough to play in the NBA. To me that's the big difference.

^^so what is he up to now a days? iranian league in in full swing, nba is going on, China league and Euro League as well!! I think he miss it up again he should have atleast gone to D-League, Yes the pay is low but the season is long and he would have been called up eventually for a 10 day contract sometime this season!IRI = FAILED

^^sadly, day by day it seems like AK's story is just "missed opportunity" after "missed opportunity". in these situations, usually one of two things is true:
1) the player has a bad agent/group of supporters who constantly encourage the wrong moves
2) the player is simply not good enough for that playing level
both are sad. i think AK's case is a touch of both.

Same goes for Hamed (to a lesser degree) considering the lack of decent tall centers with a soft touch in the NBA at the moment.
Arsalan got fucked over by the 76ers , but that doesn't have to be the end of it for him. If he can't get into a Europe , he should try D-league next year and show of his talent.
Who really knows what happened with him though. Might have just gotten sick of basketball, maybe he fell in love and plans a different life , or maybe his expectations were too high to begin with and now his hopes are crushed.
