take kyle anderson for example.....he was a first round pick and played essentially the entire season last year in the d league and was the MVP. now he is about to be in arguably the best team in the league's rotation. That is a prime example IMO that if you work hard and prove yourself, youll get noticed. definitely more than europe at least IMO. Arsalan is making a very big mistake here, I'm disappointed.

i can see your point but its hard for me to decide which would be the best choice for him. They have put him in a very tough situation. Your examples are vaild but that is such a small percentage compared to those who dont make it. Also, Arsalan's game is the type that is different than a player that can score or lead a team. If he was a PG lets say and was leading his team to championship in d-league scoring 30pts, with bunch of assits, etc...then yes he would get noticed. But his specialty of defense, hustling, etc...will only get noticed if he's on a good team that is winning. He wont get noticed if his team sucks and he's not the type to put up 20pt games very often. And d-league is really for development, Arsalan is what he is, there is no developing him like he's 21 or something.

what i like about the d-league option is he will be playing under american style of play and will be more used to it as opposed to how they play in china. But you gotta realize morale and confidence is huge as well, currently he has been demoralized over his situation because these teams are simply not even giving him a chance. IF they did and he didnt prove himself it would be something but the hawks even screwed him, i mean what is this 2 min. in 1 game and then cut him bulllshit? at least let the guy play a couple of games for 10 min or something before you let him go. So if he goes to d-league its even more depressing travelling on bus, getting paid like 25K which is no money so he'd have to live out of pocket. ITs hard to go a full year playing in a depressing situation knowing his time is running out and god knows what these teams will do by next summer in terms of what players they want to acquire or who they draft, etc.....he might play a full season at d-league only to see they have already filled a spot for his position come summer time. At that point, no one would probably want a 26 yr old d-league player when there are so many new kids coming out of college every year. Playing in China will atleast fit his profile more as an international player which will get more noticed than a d-league american player.

so yea i can see both options how they could be good or bad, i just wish he could get at least 50-60K out of d-league and stayed here. He can always get a million dollar contract in china next year if nba doesnt work out.

Just finished having a very mashti chelokabob with Arsalan. He is a great cook! We were khabaloo on the coach watching TV then the GM of the rockets called. They claimed off the waivers!! 
Same situation as Atlanta so don't get overly excited. But again it means a lot that they picked up and it proved what I said before that there IS interest in him. Let's all hope for the best. I am so happy!

P.S the rockets GM said I am with our travel agent right now and want to get you your ticket but he said I live in Houston! I am already here. He has to go for his medicals so I don't know if he will be ready for the game tomorrow. Stay tuned.

the better the team, the better chances arsalan has to land a spot on the roster. this is because teams take risks on lower salary players. hopefully he makes it

Great news. Arsalan is a great kid. I've talked to him for a long time from highschool to college, unfortunately, we lost contact. But he is a wonderful person and a great talent. He just needs to be put into the right situation

Yeah the Rockets have the most thorough physical testing of all NBA teams so he won't be cleared til Friday. AK will be playing on Saturdays game vs Miami.
