He was setting his own record in training and close to world record!

God damn it. It is our 2nd injured weightlifter in 2 weeks. Why do they insist on attacking too much weight on training. Our Olympics gold medal chances are getting lower and lower

Typical.... the most promising athletes of Iran always get injured during the most critical periods.

^^ that was a bitchy comment, but it is definitely not false.

The world record is 266 kg, established in 1988.

Heavyweight lifters tend to have recurring injuries, just the nature of what they do.

Who else do we have with a medal chance now with two injured?
Team Melli - Traxtor - Barcelona

Rostami (85) and Taghian (77). and of course Moradi (94) if they let him participate. which is still in doubt. Moradi will be clear favorite for the gold.

also it will be VERY impotant for the rest of the team to finish as high as possible, team ranking here (+ results from 2014 WCH) will determine the Olympic quotas.

Iran is currently 7th after 2014 WCH, they have to move up at least to 6th place in team ranking to secure maximum 6 berths for Rio.

Did Anoushravani retire? and what happened to the young fellow Molaei? He looked so promising in 2013.
