its strange because 3 days ago Iranian papers reported the roster...
no news outlet mentioned Iran is out... so I guess maybe they didn't update their website

We lost two of our gold medal contenders due to injury in the past month and another one (Sohrab Moradi) cannot play because he was named "retired!!!" (probably deliberately) by the previous federation of Rezazadeh and co.
We have a really slim chance of getting a team medal and getting 6 qualification spots.

Thank you. His name was in the start list a few weeks ago and was now removed. Also, there was lots of confusion about whether his ban was up, and whether he was retired. If he was competing, he would be one of Iran's best chances to medal as he posted 200/240 on his instagram just a few weeks ago, which is incredible for a 94, even in training. Obviously I know how to read and saw that he wasn't included in the list posted above. But this isn't a simple situation, and the whole point of message boards is to discuss situations such as his.

I have high hopes on Taghian, Rostami (defending champ in his weight class) and also Molaei.

also Jaber behrouzi and Nassirshalal can do well, if they are in form!

Regarding injuries, its due to our incompetent coachings! Ever since Kurosh Bagheri left the team, we were never able to fill his role. He was head and shoulders above all our coaches.....! and all because of a stupid TV moderator creating fights between him and Salimi....
