    also Jaber behrouzi and Nassirshalal can do well, if they are in form!

    Regarding injuries, its due to our incompetent coachings! Ever since Kurosh Bagheri left the team, we were never able to fill his role. He was head and shoulders above all our coaches.....! and all because of a stupid TV moderator creating fights between him and Salimi....
    Spot on. Him getting the team to win 4 medals in 2012 Olympic was an amazing achievement, which won't be repeated anytime soon.

      They announced the "final start list" and unfortunately Askari, Behruzi and even Molaei will be in Group B !!!! which means realistically no chance for medal. (maybe a very slim chance for Bahador to win a medal in CJ)

      Hashemi in Group A 94kg also has no chance for medal. based on entries there is a small chance for Taghian and Nasirshalal for medal while Rostami is our only realistic favorite for the gold. even though even Rostami has a tough job to even finish on podium, those 2 Russians and that Chinese guy (who beat Rostami in Incheon) are very good.

      this is also the only qualification tournament for Rio 2016. this is very important for our athletes to finish as higher as possible, we have to finish in top 6 to qualify a whole 6-man team for Rio. we are currently 7th after 2014 World Championship. (they count results from 2014 and 2015 together)

          Behrouzi bombed out in 69kg weight class. We entered 7 lifters. 6 lifters count towards team placement so his bomb out means our remaining lifters have to do well. Here's Rostami crushing 210 in the training hall https://www.instagram.com/p/-aP5j7Prg8/

              Askari finished 27th ==> 0 pts
              Behrouzi bombed out ==> 0 pts

              We are in danger of not qualifying a complete 6 man team for Rio, actually our chance is VERY slim now, if one more Iranian bombs out, even qualifying 5 athletes will be in danger.

                      The good news is our remaining athletes are probably our best lifters. Taghian, Rostami, Nasirshalal, and Moulai.

                      It is a shame that Salimi, Moradi, and Mohammadpour are all out. Those three are probably among our top 4 lifters other than Rostami. I have high hopes for Taghian though.

                                He will be in Rio most probably, had a surgery and will start training after something like 2 months

                                but with Taghian bombing out, we can't qualify a 6 man team, that's for sure, it will be either 5 or 4 !! thanks god we had OK results back in 2014 (and they will count 2014 and 2015 results together) otherwise with this shitty team and this shitty coach we could not qualify more than 1 weightlifter for Rio !
