One quick look at Dariush's social media, or paying attention to the fact that he fights under the Assyrian flag, you will notice that he considers himself Assyrian first, then American. He always just says he was "born in Iran", but makes sure he clarifies that he is Assyrian. To me, he doesn't sound like someone who considers himself Iranian, or has any pride in Iran, it is clear that he considers himself Assyrian-American, therefore I have no connection to him and do not care about his fights.

Who cares. Hes a nice guy and good fighter. If he wants to be Assyrian first good for him. Thats where he feels his connection. I also dont think hes ashamed of being born in Iran. He gave a little interview here and it shows he knows a couple things about Iran.

Meh. He goes out of his way to dissociate himself with Iran.
One fighter to look at in the future would be Seyedmostafa Salehizadeh, greco-roman champion. Hes training with Firas Zahabi from Tristar. There used to be a video of them grappling but it got taken down i dont know why.
I am very surprised nobody here has mentioned or knows about Mohammad Heibati aka "Persian Dagestan"
He is an Iranian amateur wrestler from Lorestan who moved to Dagestan a few years ago to train MMA. He is a pretty crazy character and his charisma/craziness/trash-talking and his so-far perfect but largely untested record of 3-0 has made him very popular in Russia among MMA fans. Much of his support comes from Dagestanis because he trains there and he has many friends from there and especially Tajikistani migrants in Russia who absolutely love him. My tajik friend who lives in Moscow said everybody knows him. He goes by перс which means Persian pretty much. Here is a video of him with Tajiks in Moscow talking about how Iranians and Tajiks are all hamvatan, hamzaban, hamnezhad https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnQJYo-N74E&t=421s It has 362k views so yea hes no rando like most of the guys y'all are posting here (no disrespect to them)
There is not much info about him on the english web but theres hundreds or even thousands of hype videos about him on Russian-language tik tok and you can see his instagram here https://www.instagram.com/pd_mma/?hl=en
Looking at the comments and his followers it's clear people in Iran still haven't heard about him but he's got a big name in Russia.

I just watched his fights. He’s very raw. He stands in the pocket a bit too much. Looks like he has a good chin but that’s really dangerous. 2 of his 3 fights he won by split decisions over pretty average to bad fighters. Hopefully he is still young and can continue to improve. He is intriguing for sure. Thanks for sharing!
Let me actually change something I just said. Looking into this more. He just fought in a bareknuckle Russian league. Stand up only. And won. That’s insanely impressive. So he’s 3-0 in mma and 1-0 in this bareknuckle format. I hope that was just a one off for publicity. He should concentrate on mma. Still pretty awesome tho. I’m a fan.
Another guy I'll mention--
There's someone part of Heybati's squad, his name is Emil Bakhshiev, originally from the Republic of Azerbaijan. Idk much about his fighting record tbh. However, what is interesting about him is that he is a Talysh, a persecuted Iranian/Iranic minority ethnic group that lives in that fake country. Most Talysh, if they aren't assimilated, have very negative feelings towards the ROA and identify as Iranian. And as you can see here, on his instagram, he calls himself "Emil 'PERS' Bakhshiev", seemingly identifying as Persian/Iranian. Pretty cool. Here's his insta https://www.instagram.com/emi_lange22/?hl=en
