Lol, and how many other Iranian athletes choose to not affiliate themselves with Iran because of IR? I know why you're not supporting him ya dummy, I've been sounding like a broken record player at this point making it clear that there will be more people just like him, Mollaei, Asemani, Kianzad, Arzani, Irandust, Eskandarian, Firouzja, Alizadeh, etc. as long as IR is in power, and yet they're still Iranian whether you choose to support them or not and regardless of whether they identify as Martians or Iranians.

Fair enough, and I agree with you on that. One is more proud of their Iranian heritage than the other, there's no arguing that. But to make the claim that Dariush isn't Iranian is foolish.

You can choose to not support him, and I'll continue to support all athletes of Iranian heritage and we can leave it at that.

May we hopefully see the day where Iran is peaceful and progressive enough where all Iranians are proud of their heritage.

Another guy I'll mention--
There's someone part of Heybati's squad, his name is Emil Bakhshiev, originally from the Republic of Azerbaijan. Idk much about his fighting record tbh. However, what is interesting about him is that he is a Talysh, a persecuted Iranian/Iranic minority ethnic group that lives in that fake country. Most Talysh, if they aren't assimilated, have very negative feelings towards the ROA and identify as Iranian. And as you can see here, on his instagram, he calls himself "Emil 'PERS' Bakhshiev", seemingly identifying as Persian/Iranian. Pretty cool. I need more info about these guys. I watch their instagrams. It’s so fascinating. They are such characters. Heybati is basically using McGregor antics. So fun to watch.

Please add Beneil to the "Men with no country in the MMA" category.

And please let's not be naïve. Without IR these guys wouldn't care to be Iranian either. IR has only made it more obvious where their priories are.

Also, huge difference between being from a country on paper (due to birth) than actually feeling or claiming to be a person from that country.
