Maybe because he already knows how to wrestle but can't box?

if he was as good as he thinks as wrestler he would take everyone down like habib and destroy them, what about ju jitsu ? what about muay thai ? how many times did he kick in his 12 fights ? i can count them on my two hands

His problem wasn't offense. His problem was that he couldn't get close to fighters that had quality stand up. He almost knocked out his first opponent in One but he just stood there and crumbled on one punch. He was a stationary target with no chin. He needed a real coach instead of just going back to Iran and training on his own. I think he's done. Once your chin is that suspect there really is no coming back.

Collegiate wrestling and greco do not transition well into UFC, it's too explosive. You suplex and salto a fighter 2-3 times and get gassed. Collegiate is not as explosive as greco but both compared to freestyle and shoot-style wrestling are more explosive. The latter ones are more sequential and gives room and space for fighters to not wear themselves down. If you survive a few TD attempt by greco guys or collegiate guys you are in a good position to claw back into the fight.

I respectfully disagree with one of your assessments. Folk style, which is the name for collegiate wrestling in the US, gives points for being able to control your opponent on the ground. As oppose to free style where you hit a takedown and then basically back up. Obviously free style is much more exciting, however top control is a paramount skill in MMA. And a lot of these folk style wrestlers have been doing that since they were kids.
