    Iran is looking for hockey players

    Ice hockey ones specifically.
    They want to compete in the Asian Winter Games in 2017 and want any Iranian who is at a decent level whether inside or outside of Iran to try out. Very exciting to hear.

    Here are the links I can find, they're most active on their instagram page.

            There are 3 rinks in Iran now. 2 in Tehran, 1 in Tabriz, iirc.
            None have standard dimensions, but a 4th is currently under construction designed for IIHF games.

            I found some news and videos here:

              That's cool! I played ice hockey for about 8 years, I wonder what the level is like? Its hard for me to believe they would be much good.

                I'm sure it would be easy for you to pick it up again and get to their level (if they're any better), because of your many years of experience.

                Why not give it shot? It would be a great experience.

                  Wow, thanks for the info. didn't know that.

                  Its funny though that in one of the links, it says the ones in Tabriz, the so called largest in the region, is standard but then in the last link he says we don't have any standard rinks yet but one is under construction.

                  We need many more stadiums for this sport to flourish. Dameshoon garm!

                      that would be cool. they will have to recruit highly in Scandinavian and Canada as those are the places where you will find Iranians playing hockey.
                      IRI = FAILED
