    Kianoush Rostami (85kg) World Record Clean & Jerk and Total!

    Deserves its own thread. Kianoush Rostami just broke the 85kg weight class world record in the Clean and Jerk, and Total. This was at the Fajr Cup in Iran. He snatched 170, 175, and skipped his third attempt. He C/J 210, 220, and again skipped his third attempt.

    Congratulations! Hopefully we'll soon get some more records back to our country in weightlifting!

        Yes it is official. It was set at an IWF sanctioned meet http://www.iwf.net/competitions/calendar/

          the clean and jerk record have been there for a while since 1998, is good he got world record after we lost rezazadeh record

            We haven't lost Rezazadeh's records. It is back to us as the Russian was caught doping.

                        VERY unlikely for Salimi, just because he was good it doesn't mean he will be good after a surgery, beside that those Georgian guy and Albegov of Russia are setting great results in international competitions, even a bronze will be good for either Salimi or Molaei

                        but both Rostami and Moradi are top favorites for the gold,
