Like I said, USMNT was hungry and also played a very organized game. They gave Costa Rica no time on the ball in the final third, Cameron and Brooks were all over Ruiz and Campbell they did fantastic. Still think Dempsey as a striker is a huge mistake, his creativity is his best asset and it is not going to be best utilized as a striker he had some great moments today but he can do even more if he is in bedoya's spot, which for sure klinsman will have to do once johansen and altidore are back

Honduras has a good team too.

Jamaica, Panama, and Trinadad & Tobago are solid too. CONCACAF isn't as bad as some make it out to be it is comparable with AFC and you can even make the argument that it's better.

The problem with these teams is they are only good once and then they go back to being bad again. Look at Costa Rica; made last 8 of World cup and this tournament they are garbage and out already.

Could you please define what bad is in your book? I don't see how you could possibly say that costa rica was ever bad and also don't think that one bad game means they are bad. They have a real talented team they should've beat Paraguay and were unlucky to draw, their results and record over the last 2-3 years you'll see that before the WC they looked good and even after it they only lost to brazil and spain by a one goal margin, not to mention that they have their most important player in Keylor Navas (starting GK for Real Madrid) not playing in the tournament due to injury.

If you look at Costa Rica they have only had one bad World Cup (2006). They made the 2nd round the first time they qualified (1990), were eliminated on goal difference the 2nd time in a group featuring the eventual champion and 3rd place teams (2002, Brazil and Turkey) and made the quarterfinals in 2014. That's 3 out of 4 times that they were good.

That's the reason they lost 7-1.weak teams in europe often defend only against big teams so they dont lose by much.

yea but you are talkin about an island that had an earthquake and has no history in football. I praise Haiti's performance against Brazil. Haiti would probably lose by a similar margin if they played our TM too.

Not yet. If Mexico loses against Jamaica Uruguay has a slim chance of making it. They would need to beat Jamaica in their last game and hope Venezuela beats Mexico.

Yeah but that's not gonna happen. Mexico just needs a draw from Jamaica to put Uruguay out. Even if they lose to Jamaica which is highly unlikely I doubt Venezuela would beat them too.

venezuela is an interesting team, if you look at their roster you see some top quality players like rondon and rincon. Also santos (who many of you might remember from ARJ's days at NEC, the joint best player at his time there), josef martinez (torino), adalberto Penaranda (19 yr old playing in LA liga for granada), oswaldo vicarrondo (Nantes), and Dani Hernandez (6'5 GK playing for Tenerife in Liga Adelante) all make up a respectable core of this venezuela team. It makes you kinda scratch your head seeing how poor theyve been in WCQs but hey, maybe this tournament can be the boost they needed and turn things around for them.
