My biggest question which no one knows is, why the fuck England looked so slow and sluggish. They clearly looked tired, they weren't challenging. A different set of players to the group games. What the hell?

I dont know what the deal is with English teams in general; whether NT or club...they seem to have a motivation and mental problem. They dont understand tactics and lack composure at important times. Could be the money and hype surrounding the league which takes away from whats important. There is too much focus on off the field and media drama or things that happened that dont have much to do with the game itself. Coaching is perhaps a problem too, they need a revolution.

it's all about confidence & attitude but also getting rid of selfish players (who try to dribble and show their skills to get a nice contract rather than getting the team to win, such as Karimi vs Ireland). We have had the talent but when we face good European teams, we somewhat assume we are going to lose even before the game starts. For example if you go back and look at 98 team, other than very few players the rest weren't even trying to beat Yugoslavia. Or vs Germany in Tehran (which i think we lost 2-0) players seemed happy and eager to exchange jerseys after the game rather than being pissed over the fact that for the first time in many years TM had lost a home game.

Thats one thing but the other thing is Iceland has been conditioned year after year of playing high quality opposition in friendlies, WC and euro qualifiers. Over time, you get better and get more experience. Our team literally has NONE of that. We face a quality opponent once every 3 years if we're lucky. So what Iceland, Turkey, Greece, etc...have done we cant do...best we can get is the Argentina game. Until we start facing some quality opponents and fix everything else, we wont really get there. Maybe in 1 good day in 1 game, but i dont see us making a run in a tournament, game after game.

I mean Giaccherini/Parolo etc arent terrible. I expect the game to go past 90min. Bonucci/Barzagli/Chiellini are truly the most annoying trio to score on ever.
