Job well done to UEFA for absolutely turning this tournament into a joke!
I told you guys 24 team format is stupid. This is what happens when 3rd place teams also make it. I wouldnt be surprised at a joke of a final to be honest.


Teams like Italy, Spain, Germany, France have to beat each other to get to the final ??
2 out of the 3 of Germany, Spain, Italy will be eliminated by the time semis come. This clearly doesnt prove who the strongest team in this tournament it. Unless 1 of these 3 wins it then you can say they had the hardest route and they deserved it.

The point of a tournament is not to have a guaranteed ideal final... the more teams the better as there are more games of a tournament we all want to see, how is that a bad thing??

The point of a tournament is not to have a guaranteed ideal final... the more teams the better as there are more games of a tournament we all want to see, how is that a bad thing??

a little bit of mixture is fine but not this lob sided bs. How does it make sense that Italy gets 1st place and gets Spain, and Belgium gets 2nd and they get Hungary?
Why are there so many other teams that did worse get easier match ups? England gets 2nd place in an easy group and gets Iceland?

Aside from that, it has become too easy to qualify to next round, therefore not only it doesnt have much prestige but it has less pressure on teams to get a result each game. You can qualify by losing 2 and winning your last game for example. Out of 24 teams, only 8 eliminated, whats the prestige in that when 66% go through to next round?

I agree too many teams dilutes the quality of play.

I dont agree that its UEFAs fault for the elimination bracket being lopsided. It's Spain and Englands fault for placing second place. They did that to themselves. If those two would have finished first like expected this wouldnt happen.

It makes me slightly uncomfortable to realize that countries such as Qatar and UAE will soon reach the KNOCK OUT stages of the World Cup.

seems like they want to make sure everyone gets a little bit of the happiness of a tournament so they can stay interested or have some hope. But it really ruins it when you have too many people getting that special treatment. Part of something being special is because its hard to obtain. Now we're going to make it easy so everyone can be happy.
