I have a lot of respect for Bana, but really we send aging wrestlers most of them in higher weight classes to an olympics, where we know that refs do their best to eliminate us!

All my hopes are now on Freestylists!

This is purely the coach's fault. 3 olympic champions, all 3 of them eliminated in the first or second round due to fatigue. It is clear these guys were not conditioned properly.

Forget the refs, forget IR. In round 1 or 2, they should not have even allowed it to come down to the ref. Nourozi was tired. Ghasemi was fatigued, Sourian couldn't keep a 7-0 lead. This is all on Bana or whoever the strength and conditioning coach was.

Cuba surely doesnt have any more $$ or facilities than Iran does, but they have two olympic gold champions in greco this year along with this guy who just reached the semi.

Let's see what the freestylers can do, but if they were under the same conditioning regime, forget any gold.

Refs were terrible most of our Matches...but all in all we showed a super weak Performance and did not deserve any more than that in Greko...to me they all seemed to be pretty unfit.

As much as I like Bana. This is all his fault. He should have never left the team. He came back after two years and tried to get these guys fit in 6 months, and they're all so obviously burnt out due to heavy training.

Khadem didnt do this mistake, he built a new team with youngsters, even if he had to leave esmaeilpour out due to weightclass. We have a powerhouse in freestyle, and all young with exception of captain Reza Yazdani, and all are in their rightful combat weight class!

we wont see fatigue with freestylers, they will kick some serious a$$!

Also, as much as I hate AN, the sports minister under him, in his last 4 years was much better than now under Goudarzi who has been cutting various federations' budgets and interfering in their works. I hope he is replaced soon.

I am not happy with our performance. Yes, refereeing has not favored Iran. Several obvious faults which cost Iran. I believe Bana should have objected to their decisions.

Any how, Iranian wrestlers seem tired. Cubans seem stronger. I agree that Cuba does not have better facilities or money in comparison to Iran.

Goudarzi is very cheap and very petty.
If Iran gets more than 4 medals total he said he will be satisfied!

of course Agha Jan, these are two different sports.

Rasul Khadem, the head of the federation is also the freestyle head coach.


Khadem as a coach always (sometimes in a very risky way) brings youngsters, and doesnt change weightclasses.
Only Hassan Rahimi had to get a lil bit up due to new rules, but he didnt take any other wrestler who were in other weights to olympics.
Also we have a strong line up in freestyle, Ali Karimi, Hassan Yazdani, Hassan Rahimi, Capt. Reza Yazdani, Komeil Ghassemi are all medal hopefulls!
and with exceptions of team captain, they are all youngsters!
