Has anyone here watched weightlifting before? They were close calls but Behdad's elbows were too soft. It's not always the judges fault

Does he have another lift? If he does, please tell me his trainers are smart enough to have him sit out and not risk damaging his knee any further.

Guys eitherway if he made 245kg he would win Silver, not Gold. The injury killed him, he has done 255kg before but he can't now so soon after his surgery.. Poor guy.

Exactly. But the Iranian Olympics comitee should do something about this. They have discriminated us in all sports they knew we could sweep the floor for medals.

Just give all the medals to USA and let it be. Screw Olympics, a politics-minded show.

Ok I can somehow understand the first one being disapproved but wtf was wrong with the second attempt that the so called jury had to step in while 3 fckin referees had given 3 white lamps already?!
exactly, first one OK i can accept, second lift was fine!
the refs gave all three white lights!
                            it was robbery!

His first lift was completely fine.

they need someone more intelligent. anoushiravani was great to get silver in 2012 but he isn't a coach. they fucked up the arithmetic for barari's lift and their tactics for Behdad's C+J were completely wrong.

The olympic weightlifting is also really unlucky. what is the point of having three referees when one jury member can overturn them (all three gave behdad a pass for his second lift but one jury member disagreed, then conferred with the rest of the jury, then they decided to appeal)

On the other hand, the pundits did say that both lifts were fouls but we have seen other people get away with fouls in other weight categories.
