no salimi never in his life lifted more than 255 c&j. (far away from rezazadehs 263 kgs)!

today salimi couldnt compete with georgian, he was a monster!

Iran still holds the record of Snatch, after the georgean broke salimi's record, salimi broke it back!
Iran also hold c&j record, rezazadeh's 263 kgs.
Total belongs now to georgea.

I highly doubt it. Seemed like he is still suffering from knee injury and quite honestly it was apparent that he would not be able to hit more than 145-146

I think even with 236kg he would have had silver. Very disappointing but can't change the past. We best just move on...hurts too much to keep thinking about it

Babak jaan, honestly given his knee injury and how shaky he lifted in C&J, it totally seemed to me as if he just could not lift more than what he tried. Not today, or another few months, before he reaches full knee recovery. Hopefully next Olympics he will make up for it.

BTW I remember last Olympics we had another good heavyweight lifter along with Behdad who got a silver/bronze. Was he not good enough this time around to make it to Rio?

Guys, the hopes we had for this Olympics are over, with all this shit, I doubt anything can save it. Let's enjoy the rest of the ride, we/Iranian federation must find some way to fight back on all this BS in the future.

maximum, in the best case scenario we get 3 or 4 more medals imo. but the way things are shaping to be, i think 1 or 2 is more likely. these olympics are only slightly better than beijing for us.

Move on means forget the rest of the Olympics. What they did to Bana and his team, they will do to the freestyle team. What they did to Ehsan and Behdad, they will do to our taekwondo team. Wait and see.

I was on the verge of breaking down, throwing shit at the TV and screaming at my mother. But now i will try to collect myself.
This is the price we pay for being one of the very , very few countries that stands up to the arrogant and wrong world powers and defies them at all costs. Salimi is a gold medalist, he is the strongest man in the world, he will be ok, dont worry about him. They couldnt stand us winning THREE GOLDS in weightlfting. My only complaint is that we could help ourselves more with preparation,better treatment of athletes, and better coaching. We need a new generation of weightlifters and wrestlers next year, its obvious that even 26+ is bordering old for these sports.

All of you need to understand that Iranophobia is real and all these sports bodies are politically motivated to fuck Iran and Iranians any chance they get. I remember a couple of years ago, we won several Gold medals at TKD World Championship on day 1, because we were good at a particular style of kick, and as soon we won two Golds, they actually changed the rules in the middle of the championship to ban that kick style and openly stated that it was because "the Iranians were wining all the medals". I kid you not. They changed the fucking rules in the middle of an ongoing championship. It's the same shit in Wrestling , Karate, Weightlifting , as soon as Iranians win a couple of Gold medals, they call the jury, they actually change the rules, because Iran, in their eyes, should be irreverent and not worthy of dominating a sport, it's not good for the commercial interests and image of the sports to be known as the sport dominated by the big bad Iranians.
