    powerlifting is different than weightlifting

On IRIB3 they posed the question could Behdad have started at a lower weight 235Kg. The coach said there is no guarantee that he could have lifted that either.

Not convinced from 235 to 245 *IS* a big difference. He would have been placed on the board and could have attacked a higher weight.

The coaches need to take some responsibility for this result too

Of course he has the snatch WR and that is indeed something. I am just grateful that Behdad seems calmer and more like himself. He is still clearly disappointed and was staring off into the distance at times.

I truly hope he can come back from all this ... whether he has another Olympics in him is debatable given his injury record and the young lions snapping at his heels ... we shall see.

Hashemi was kind of a waste even tho he's still young I wish Bahador was in form

It is 2016, why are there so many car accidents in Iran? I feel like every year I hear some Iranian athlete or celebrity dies or gets injured in car accidents.

I also said the same thing earlier. He is almost 370 lbs, which is a lot of weight on himself to carry on his knees, now imagine all the stress and fatigue he adds to his knees by weightlifting. His knee will never heal to 100% and if he values his mobility he should really consider retiring and dropping some of his weight.

Not in this olympics, but previously. Moradi and Barari https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catego...n_doping_cases.

People say Talazkhadze is a cheater blah blah blah. Baba our own gold medalist Moradi came back from a positive test. It's okay to be passionate fans but be objective

Sajjad Anoushiravani and Salimi must have misunderstood him big time!

well he doesn't need to come back for Olympics, he just needs to brake the world record at next Asian Championship... if he recovers and brings back the total record in a year's time, then that's a comeback and a sweet good bye.

I am more worried about the young Bahador Molaei's injury. Bahdor is actually stronger than Salimi in C&J, but not as good in Snatch, he still can be a record holder, question is can he recover from shoulder injury and lift after operation without tearing anything apart....?
