I don't give a rat's ass what result will be recorded in the books and internet. For me as long as I am alive Salimi won a silver in the Olympics just like Jadidi won gold in 1996.
I feel really sad for millions of us in Iran who stayed up till 5 am to watch the greatest robbery in history.

Abbas Jadidi, now here is a name you don't hear everyday.

There is no conspiracy. Dating back to the Olympics in Atlanta, Iran has been systematically screwed on multiple events. The OIC is corrupt to the core.

They should hack the Olympics page too.

Why does he have to go so soon after his second attempt. Can't he go a bit later when he recovers?

Weights go up not down. No choice.

Well as said, if you look closely, maybe they were right. Maybe he wasn't robbed. Of course it's emotionally difficult to accept it which I understand. But I'm not talking about next Olympics. It's enough for him to get back Rezazadeh's record at the next major event (Asian competitions or what ever). The record of the strongest man on earth will remain no matter what competition it is!

I don't think he can come back. He reconstructed his knees. He is already a heavy man. 4 more years of training may hurt him to the point that mobility will become a major issue for him when a few years older.

This is what happens when you don't have a good coaching team. If I were the coach I would've never let him go back out right away for the 2nd attempt. As a coach you need to be able to tell if your athlete is conditioned enough for the attempt. All he had to do was add a kg and get a break from going back out right away. 1kg wouldn't have made a major impact on his lift however it would've given him the extra time to catch his breath.
