Iran is among strongest nations in Asia in Kabbadi, and Asia specially India and Pakistan are the strongest in the world. Iran beat Pakistan at the last Asian games and got silver medal, both Iranian women and men were silver medalists.

USA isn't any good in this sport, beating them by big margin is no surprise but we had the biggest surprse ever in this sport today, Korea beat India, this is the first ever defeat for India in this sport ! which means Iran most probably have to play India in semifinal. Iran once was very close to beat India in 2014 Asian Games final but lost in last minute.

This is the most hilarious sport I have ever seen. It seriously like playing tag at the playground when we were children. Bascially a glorified game of 'tag you're it'. But whatever as long as Iran is good at it I hope it gets included in the olympics hahahaa.

I have watched this sport on occasional times. The origin of this game is Iran. Keyboodi (who are you)? over time has become kaybbadi.

This game was forgotten in Iran at the professional level. When we were children, we played such a sport or something similar to it.

Surprisingly India and Pakistan have taken this sport seriously. It will not make it to Olympics unless Europeans become interested. Europe has huge power base to make everything such as swimming into its favor. I do not see this happening soon.

Iran will play Korea in semifinal on Friday after losing intentionally to Poland (which is a weak team !) they lost on purpose to avoid India in semifinal .

after demolishing USA and Thailand, they beat Japan and Kenya narrowly , in both matches Iran didn't score that much "intentionally" to have a low points difference. they had to win to ensure the qualification first but after securing the spot in the semifinal then they lost their last group match to finish 2nd behind Thailand because Thailand had better points difference. they Thailand by +40 pts !!!

Iran beat Korea 28-22 in semifinal to play India tomorrow in the final. at some point Iran was down by 7 in 1st half. they had a great comeback.

Iran lost the final by 9pts to India. they had the lead by 5pts after the first half but lost the momentum to India at the start of second half after a major mistake which game 3pts away to India.
even back in Incheon 2014, Iran lost a 10pts lead to India. they can beat India for sure but India is still the better team.
