He is still young for a snooker player and has time but he needs to learn a lesson from this. Pick your fights

O Sullivan himself sht talks the opponent a lot. Eg
With Stephen Hendry in 20 years ago 'send him home to Scotland and his sad little life.' but the difference was that Ronnie was world champion that year, hossein hasn't yet made the semi finals of a meaningful tournament

For sure! Like I said the sport need some new characters and I haven't watched snooker properly for nearly a decade. Vafaei's antics pulled me in lol

but you defiantly need to back up the shit talking as you said!

What was going through his mind? No one does this in frame 2 of 25:

This was pure uncontrolled self-destructive emotion. This talented guy needs someone to steer him and then he can crack the top 10. otherwise he will fluctuate between 20-40 for the next 10 years

John Higgins and Alan McManus believe Hossein Vafaei's crazy frame 2 break was a "moment of madness"

Ronnie O’Sullivan cashes in as wild Hossein Vafaei break-off shocks Crucible

...the Iranian did himself no favours by smashing the balls from his first break-off in an ill-judged reaction to perceived disrespect shown to him by O’Sullivan performing the same shot in their last meeting two years ago. (*I see now why he did it, but still not able to back it up with a win)

The Iranian was accused of “stupidity” and “disrespecting the sport” by a shocked Steve Davis in the BBC studio, while another former world champion, Shaun Murphy, labelled Vafaei’s antics “an embarrassment” and “completely self-inflicted”.

“I don’t understand how you can smash the balls up in the World Championship, then play great in the next frame,” added Davis.

“What type of brain can do that? I don’t know where he’s coming from, but bloody hell, to win that frame after embarrassing yourself – how on earth can you concentrate after that?”

Session just starting now. Hossein 6-2 behind (best of 25)

                Down 8-2

Hossein is being ritualistically torn apart by the world's best player of all time, who when he is hungry (after Hossein's statements) goes into Super Saiyan mode. Hossein pretty much single-handedly created this Ronnie performance (and reversal of Ronnie's first round performance) by his own actions. O'Sullivan now playing around with trick shots.

This will be a key match for Vafaei if he reflects on this and the many mistakes he has made here.

Never again should he do what he did right after the Ding match. Never again should he do what he did in frame 2. And when there is an easy pot and he is 7-2 down, he can't piss around.

This is now on him and on the people around him to reflect and learn lessons. If he doesn't learn these, he will always be an entertainer but he will never become a big figure in this sport.

I guess the trash talk was just a show organized between them

Mentality-wise he is still such a kid. He is really immature - see how he talks in the video below ...

But he is absolutely right in one thing - in that with some help he can become a top top player because he has all the talent

He needs a sports psychology coach first and foremost. That's more important than anything else

It's more like sportsmanship. Vafaei got humbled and Ronnie is too old and grounded to do some revenge type bs.

Yep looks like it wasn't organised.

It was just Hossein needing some kind of media training and someone to tell him when to open his mouth and when not to, and getting completely humiliated.

It's all about him learning lessons now - if he does he will be fantastic, if he doesn't then this will continue.
