Now that Hassan Yazdani is finding his pace in 86 kgs, what will happen to Ali Karimi (who was arguably one of the best in the world in 86 kgs before Rio)?
Will Karimi move up to the Adesorian 97 kgs?

what happened to Taftian in 100 meter sprint?

and I think Ehsan Haddadi is injured and was forced to compete. in his latest interviews he has told that he has a bad injury and shouldn´t compete anymore

I think we have such a wide variety of types of people that we definitely have a good pool of people who would excel.
However track and field and athletics now a days are so dependent on professional training from age 12 on. We definitely are lacking there. We don't have the funding or the infrastructure.

no he is not, he wrestled at the Asian Champs two weeks ago and won the gold easily, our national trial between him and Yazdani will be very interesting

but UWW will change the weights once again after the world championship, I think most wrestlers will wait for that to know what they want to do. we will have 10 weight classes from 2018 (only 6 of them will be at the Olympics)

Taftian changed his coach after the Olympics and he is now training in France with a French coach, his results were terrible so far with this new coach but I think this is a bit early to judge. it will take time to adopt a new training program. he claims he got injured here, the level of sprint competition was high but he could win a bronze here at least

I don't think that's true about Haddadi, he was just bad , he was just sorry in the only interview I heard from him . he has to improve A LOT if he wants to win his 4th back to back Asian Games gold medals in Indonesia next year. I don't think winning World/Olympics medal is possible for him anymore.

Karimi is a stud but I think he has been looking to move up for awhile. Hopefully Karimi and Sadulaev can take turns beating the shit out of Snyder.

Yep, and not only this, there will be some revolutionary changes starting from 2018. things like having a world ranking, having competition in two days (instead of one day) and having weight-in in the morning (instead of one day before the competition) and few more.
the last one is a big big change, most wrestlers cut a lot, but having weight-in couple of hours before the competition makes it impossible to cut a lot. most wrestlers have to move up one weight.

all those changes positive for the sport in general. thumbs up especially two days comp much more fair to the wrestlers and will be a boost to the ebtter wrestlers and not the one with the good draw

                      Thanks again.
The last change, weight in on the same day, is BAD NEWS for Iran.
Our wrestlers and Iran's strategy in general in both Greco and FS was to take advantage of the recovery time, so our wrestlers (except the super heavy weight), come on the mat with a lil bit more pounds than their opponents. This new regulations means as you say moving up in the weight class AND more physical strength training not to come short against heavier opponents than they used to wrestle.
I think Ali Karmi will move up to 97 kgs, now that Hassan Yazdani is finding his rhythm in 86 kgs.... but then again, we don't know the new weight classes.

                      UWW are crazy!

I think we were not alone in this, most wrestlers were 5-6kg heavier in the competition day, but our federation in general is not happy about the new changes most the fact we will have weigh-in twice, and in 2nd day morning they will be 2kg allowance. our federation thinks that will benefit Russian wrestlers.

On another side Iran Judo team is having good results after some years at the Asian championships with 2 finals at 60 and 81 category and some 5th and 7th places with a pretty young team.
Unfortunately Iran is missing Ramin Safavieh at 100kg category after his recent surgery, he is one of the most promising Iranian athletes in that sport.

However in the same category, Javad Mahjoub has left Judo and Iran to join Thailand where he is training to enter MMA competitions and join soon another great champion as Amir Aliakbari.
